Hi,
I think I know what Im after but not sure if its available at a sensible price. Wondering if anyone has bought or found a deal?
Tablet running android 2.0 or higher ( as I understand only 2.2 supports flash but skyfire supports from 2.0 )
7 inch screen
Able to download android apps easily
Approx £100?
Anyone any thoughts as I keep hearing conflicting advice.
Many thanks,
CR

At that price, you'll get a resistive screen, not a capacitive one. Restitive screens are much less responsive to touch, not very good at multi-touch gestures and generally need a stylus to be accurate. I'd seriously recommend playing with one before committing to see if you could live with it. Not sure I could. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

At that price I'm probably steering towards something like the Scroll Tablet from Storage Options.
Check the user reviews on ebuyer to get real feedback from people who have used it.
It's about £130.
Don't try one straight after using an iPad ! Set lower expectations.
There is a new capacitive screen 7in unit out from the people who did the aPad, but I doubt it will be close to the £100 mark. It's not being shipped yet to retail outlets here.0 -
The CES, a huge electronics show, is underway in Las Vegas. You can expect everyone and his dog to be releasing tablets. For instance:

thanks for all the replies
dont mind a stylus to be honest as Im using a nokia 5800 for browsing ( when not on pc ) and thats fine. Had a HTC HD2 that you use with your finger, horrible, only thing to ever give me RSi!0 -
I see quite a few disappointed iPad owners who bought the smoke, mirrors and legend ahead of the usefulness of the device itself. Including a guy I work with who bought one, realised it was a bit pony for typing on, so bought an official apple USB keyboard, and now has to carry around 2 bits of stuff, neither protecting the other, just to have an underpowered netbook that cost him more than a half-decent laptop...
So yes, spend some real time with one before deciding!0 -
There is this one,

Not quite sure your 1 friend is representative of the millions who have bought an Ipad, particularly when you consider that the Ipad probably has the highest customer satisfaction rating of any gadget released in the last few years.
I'm pretty sure your friend didn't buy a keyboard to protect his Ipad. He probably bought a case.
Look at all the threads on here from people who bought netbooks / cheap laptops. The machines all suck and people hate them.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -

Honestly, how do you rate screen response on the Archos 70, and the smaller screen? Is it just as usable?. I was tempted to get the 101, if I can find stock.0 -
I can type reasonably well on the iPad.
Kabayiri: You can jailbreak the iPad to get more flexibility.
