I'm a little stressed....

I gave my dress to the lady who was altering it for me five weeks ago. She was going to have me back for a fitting before she finallised it. Two weeks ago I contacted her as I'd heard nothing. She told me her Dad had died, I was sympathetic, she said she'd have it ready for me to take away on the Jubilee weekend.
No contact
Rang her today, she's taken on some 'emergency' work for someone else's wedding and she'll have my dress ready for this weekend...... The final weekend before we go down South for the wedding.

I don't know what to do. I feel like she's got me stuck really. I wouldn't have minded as much if she'd just kept me informed, but I've had no contact whatsoever.

I'm thinking I will ring her Saturday morning and if it's still not done I'll go over and take the dress off of her and try to get someone else to do it as an emergency job. How long before the wedding did you guys get your dresses?

What is wrong with people?!

MrsShawToBe you must be so excited! Hope it goes really well and you have no drama today!

Why is it that despite paying the registrar fee in January and having the forms since before then I have left it until tomorrow to leave in the marriage form - literally the last day in the "2 week before" deadline!? And it's not even me leaving it in, it's my mum!

Rahven - let's hope she's finished it! Cheers for the congrats. I had a few teary eyed moments but was terrified of crying cus of make up!
