Aw Me, bigs hugs. We had to do the same for our oldest black Lab 18 months ago or so. :( We knew the minute he went off his food (he was always a moocher and a beggar!). Big hugs to you. Our Max will be waiting for your doggy and they can have fun chasing rabbits in the sky. xxx

Didnt realise we had been neighbours for nearly a year! So we actually got nearly a year (mainly thanks to the Hawthorn tablets). DH put him still being here on his Christmas list last year and he was, it would have been very wishful thinking to have been here for this one :A.

The rottie cross is very out of sorts tonight, they are used to being apart and he is waiting for him to come home.

Im glad you are now able to look at pictures of Benson, time is a great healer and I will enjoy picking one to frame.
How time flies when you are having fun. When I lost Zach my GSD I said that was it no more dogs but Benson was so down and depressed I took him to the vets and when he said that he was grieving (my vet was wonderful and knew every dog and its owner so well) I felt awful so made the decision to get another to keep him company and so along came Moo. Benson got a new lease of life. I remember when my Cat Benny died (he got run over outside my door) and we took him to be buried and my MILs, Zach and Benson came with us and they were watching the digging, Benson kept nudging Benny as if to try to wake him up and he was very interested in the whole proceedings. For the first time I ever I drank gin sitting on the patio after we had buried him. Then I heard a scuffling, I turned around and Benson was trying to dig Benny back up  He was a very loving and sensitive little being. (Just realised Benny and Benson only took me 18 years to realise that wasnt very different :rotfl::rotfl: You will need to give Rottiedog lots of cuddles and spend some time sitting on the floor with him/her

Oh what a lovely thought Nic. Benson and Zach will be happy to chase around but whatever they do I hope they dont let Benson have a ball because they will never get it back.

Rabbits be warned tonight, although if they turned round and said boo he'd run the other way!

My young dog is laid in my arms like a baby which is a miracle as he is rather large

Aw Me, cuddle him tight and give his belly an extra wee rub from me. xx

MrsM, that's how my parent's now have a rather boisterous female lab. Max's little brother (who is not so little being 12 now) was lost. The pup has done wonders for him, but she's very, very different to the dogs! Placid and docile she is not! She is more like Marley from Marley and Me.

I imagine there is complete chaos with all our doglets chasing rabbits and balls and running into and jumping over each other in their last everlasting playground.

Hugs to you Me, although you know you are doing the right thing for your pet and for the right reasons, it is still tough. Our pets are such a big part of our lives and they leave a very big gap when they go. Except for that little space they have in our heart, nothing takes that away.

MrsM, tell Moo I tried to leave a comment on his bog but blogger kept kicking me out for some reason. He was such a tiny Moo, very cute! Benson must have been just as confused as Moo when Moo shot up past him!

  • Raindow Bridge, thats what got me through 5 years ago. Had a Battersea rescue dog who was 100% mongrel. Got him when he has around 2 we think, old fella made it to 17. Put up with babies crawling all over him through to teenagers dressing him up in hoodies. Still have his collar and lead.

    Hugs to you YAAHM.
