Ooo thanks Moo that looks like a great website. I have now built up a really good friendship with the lady that had him at Christmas and she adores him as much as her two danes so I think that if she isnt available I may use them.

Firewalker - you are so right. And thank you for provided that pull switch for me!. I now need to change the "I have more than enough for my needs BUT" saying to I have more than enough for my needs AND!!!

Funny how something somebody says can completely change your views and opinion on something and FWs thread does that in abundance.

Not much to report spends wise here. I am feeling a bit of a fraud with this diary.

:hello: Hey Cheri, I'm reading your diary from the beginning and also backwards from the end! So apologies in advance for any confusion I create! ;)

Don't be feeling like a fraud about your diary. I've only read back the last few pages so far, but I can see it's helping you change your attitude to money; and that's what we are all here for!

And I know from your posts on my diary, that it must also help you stay positive and focused. And I know that's been a huge help to me. So keep posting away :D. It's what keeps us on the straight and narrow (well, sometimes anyway :rotfl:.)

Besides, I need to see what quotes you've chosen to help inspire us all! :)

Hey Nic, welcome I am truly honoured and humbled that you are reading. Dont waste too much time though. Lots of it is just plain old waffle. I do love a good quote though so feel free to add any in as you see fit.

Seriously though - yes it does keep me focused. I am guessing that you haven't reached the bit of the sandwich that explains my future life changes that are about to be happening. I have been quiet about it for about a month because things are ticking along in the background. Whilst I want to talk about it as I am as excited as I have ever been I also have so much going on in my head that I am keeping it all away from this diary and in my written diaries for now. Once I have things straight and some positives to talk about I will be hard to shut up but by the same token I will be needing lots of motivation to keep me going.

Oooh, intriguing. I knew I should have actually read that speed reading book I got out of the library!!! :rotfl: I'm guessing you'll know when I get to that bit as I'll probably find it hard to keep quiet! ;)

I'm still here! Just reading more than posting all over the place right now - think I may have too many subscribed threads! :o

I know precisely what you mean about being a hoarder when it comes to money - I'm quite good at saving for that very reason, but terrible at saving for something specific, because when the time comes that I have enough to buy the "something", I don't want to see the money go out of the savings account!

Oh EH, you and me both to both of those statements. Too many subscriptions (beginning to think I am like the nosey neighbour with the twitching curtains.) and to not spending the money on what I have saved for without sulking/feeling sick/panicking that I am back to square 1. Still I am aware of it so I can do something about it.

Off out tonight to hear a talk by Chris Smith and his cycle UK to China I think it should be very interesting. All about how he pared down his life and spent 18 months alone cycling. I have a new notebook and a couple of sparkly gel pens to take notes :D Mr C tells me that we are going to have a leisurely evening not to a lecture to learn things.... :rotfl::rotfl: thats what he thinks.

I haven't told him yet that I have been to the cheap supermarket to get some bottles of beer to take in rather than paying the extortionate prices in the bar there. He will :eek: when I get them out of my bag. Oh and he has just announced that his new boss is meeting us there............. Hmm should I air on the cautious side and leave the beer at home then?

Well, I am back! I decided against the beer in the bag with new boss. Good job really him and his wife seemed rather erm proper?

What a fantastic talk, Chris Smith talked about UK to Beijing by Bicycle. Now you know me I love a good quote and his talk was full of very inspirational quotes. My notebook is filled. I did get a few funny looks at writing in my notebook though. Spoke with Chris at the end and he was really lovely. Oh to live your life without boundaries. I "invested" some of my new "We are so worth it fund" in his book "Why not Fly" - he signed it for me and put in a quote that stuck with me from his talk To risk nothing could be to risk everything" - erm forget who that was said by. Spoke volumes to me and also I could hear it being said in what I imagine to be FireWalkers voice:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Pippi, thanks for lurking, no need to post, I get to know what you are up to over your fence. Nice to know that people are watching over me though.

  • Hi Cheri, sounds like an inspiring talk and lots of new quotes. hope you pop some on here.

I have been following the progress of your lists. I'm not getting on as often and havent subscribed to any new ones for a while. I know people are here when I need advice or cheering up and that is important for us all I guess when we can't talk in the real world.

Thanks Me, I have missed your posts. Hope that all is well with you. I assume that if you are not getting on as often then things are good. That is what I usually find.

Unfortunately the talk was held in a studio where they turned the lights off so I couldnt see to write the quotes down. I did buy the book so I am hoping that some quotes are in there.
