Really???? And I've been weighing stuff?? How annoying!

Thanks though :p I'll be much more inclined to do it now! :p

I'd still weigh the bigger stuff though. Postage is charged to the customer at a flat rate of £2.75 but Amazon take roughly half that in fees so you need to make sure you don't end up out of pocket by setting your price too low. They also helpfully tell you how many hundred people are cheaper than you.

Mrs Moo - ISBN is, er, actually I don't know what it stands for :p but it's the unique identification code (usually at the top of the bar code) I think on the back of a book. Have a look - it'll have ISBN written in front of it.

Box probably depends who you buy it from - I think some orders are fulfilled directly by amazon - they'll probably come in a box - but if you're buying from individuals, or small companies, they often come in a jiffy bag, or brown paper or whatever :)

    And thanks moo2moo! :)

You do have to set your own postage charge, tho amazon *charge* a flat rate - and you *do* have to weigh them, because if the postage and the Amazon charges are more than you get paid, you're selling at a loss. Heavier books are the worst, especially novels, I just dump them at the charity shop - textbooks are a different matter. And I really did sell one book on amazon at £30!

Oh well, other than German, Welsh and Aromatherapy text books I really dont have anything worth selling. Might be too much like hard work for the returns involved. I will stick with swapping mine I think. I just discovered that the lovely little cafe I go to sometimes sells books second hand at £2 a go. This was discovered on Saturday when the upstairs was full and I had to go into the basement where I found shelves full of books for sale. I was very good and stuck to drinking my jasmine tea and not buying any books. I used to work with a girl who did car boot sales all of the time. One day a woman was annoying her asking about prices and complaining that her size 10 clothes wouldnt fit (!!!!!! it is a car boot sale) so when she complained that the books were 50p each Ali said that she could have 3 for £2 and the woman snapped her hand off :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well I just managed to get a bit more knocked off my insurance quote. I rang them back to discuss the no claims bonus confirmation and got a very nice young lad who asked if I realised that if I paid in full I would get it £30 cheaper, I told him that I had been told that was not the case last week that it would be the same price no matter what. He double checked and said no, it was definitely cheaper. As I have 0% on my CC until next May on purchases I thought that I should go that way. I can then just divert what was to be the monthly payment onto a SO for the credit card instead. :T
Also realised that I had a PPI on a very old Northern Rock loan from a few years ago. Just rang them and they confirmed that I did. Despite, at the time telling them that I am paid when off sick from work for up to 6 months and other things meaning that I would not have been eligible to claim. They have logged the complaint (I dont need to write) and said that they have until 24th November but I should hear before then. Fingers crossed that is a payout because I estimate it to be about £900 (not sure if there will be interest on top of that though).

right should be working. Just stopped for a cuppa now back to it.

Oh, I meant to say that I think Mr C had a lightbulb moment yesterday. We sat down and he looked at all of my spreadsheets with me. Seems he is on board now with being more focused on budgeting. He has realised that by doing that he can have his little treats because we can plan them in instead of him suddenly dropping the bombshell that is a skiing trip etc.
