Mine cost a bomb. Our big man is in renal failure so is on Royal Canin renal support food which costs £18 a bag and will last about 2-3 weeks - would probably last a bit longer if the other two would stop pinching it!! The other two are on Hills and they all have the odd tin of wet food thrown in for a treat . Probably costs me £50 on a bad month to fed all three - and that's not including doggy food, insurance etc! It's a good job they're cute :rotfl:0

We spend about £40 per month to feed our 3 cats. I usually use P@H as they always have specials on!DFD February 2012

I am not sure but will say that tinned wet food is much cheaper than pouches & IAMs is v expensive dried food for what it is & recommend Burns instead. I buy in bulk & stock up: Aniconda Carni wet & Burns dried from Zooplus but also sometimes give raw and Feline Fayre as treats.0

I usually feed Royal Canin Light 40, as one of my cats got a bit overweight when we experimented with feeding cheaper food. We used to leave the bowls full so they could graze, and he piled the weight on. Won't be making that mistake again, even though they drive us mad nagging for biscuits sometimes.
I got some Iams on a 3 for 2 at P@H, and never again! The stuff STINKS going in and even worse when it comes out! They are mainly indoor cats, who poo indoors, and their box is gross with the Iams.
We have been mixing it with the Royal Canin to get rid of it, and typically it lasts ages.
They will be getting Royal Canin solely once that's used up, and we are going to try the Fit 32 as they go outside a bit, but mainly indoors.
Hard to say how much they cost, but a 4kg bag lasts about a month for two cats I think. Maybe 6 weeks. So around £20-25 for 6 weeks. I'm never feeding the cheapy food again, RC costs more initially, but it is quality stuff so you can feed less. Plus it doesn't stink to high heaven :rotfl:0 -

One of mine is a feline equivalent to a Labrador, the other is like yours' and won't touch fish, chicken etc!digitalphase wrote: »They will be getting Royal Canin solely once that's used up, and we are going to try the Fit 32 as they go outside a bit, but mainly indoors.
My big cat loves this - very fussy eater (the one mentioned above). He does go out a fair bit in the summer but only for maybe 1/2 hour in the winter (seems to prefer curling up in the shower where the hot water pipes are) he also loves the Indoor 27 one.
Strangely (and luckily) the "bucket cat" does seem to like it so at least it lasts a while! She seems to prefer the cheaper dry foods and is currently on Aldi's dry and Purina One.
The big cat has a Whiskas pouch every couple of days (his choice not to have more often) and they get tuna now and then as a treat.
So, a 2kg bag of Royal Canin @ around £15 does 2 months + 2 bags Aldi @ around £2.29 & 1 bag Purina 1 @ around £4..... so around £16/month for dry plus the odd box of pouches/tin of tuna.
If you're feeding 2 for £10, you're doing very well!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -

Get the giant bags from Zoo Plus;)0 -
I feed two adult cats on £20-ish a month (Some time just under, some just over) and that's feeding a grain free at least 80% meat diet. I feed wet and dry also.
God knows why people spend so much on crap cat food.Sigless0 -
Interesting thread....
Frankly I have no idea what does it cost to feed my 4 cats (they are about 5 months old now) as I went into a panic mode and ordered a LOT of food which takes space all under my bed and my daughter's bed plus half od the shed
Having lost a job and prospect of being on £65 per week JSA for a long time I just hoarded what I could for my 4 cats and a dog, they certailny have enough food for the next 6 months or so
They got Go Cat (before I knew better) kitten dry food, Go Cat adult dry food, Taste of the Wild dry food, Orijen dry food, whiskas and felix wet sachets (before I knew better), PAT own tinns, Animoda tinns....sigh....
Dry food is always there for them and water. with wet food I either give them half a sachet each twice per day (so 4 sachets per day) or half a tin between them in the morning and another half tin between them in the evening so 1 tin per day. Tins are always better/cheaper than pouches but with one cat tins are difficult as once opened - cats do not want them no more LOL
One of mine, Fred who is the biggest just over 3kg, the others are just over 2kg each) is absolutely most fussy cat on earth but mad for raw meat .. they all get a bit of raw now and again which I never count in the cost - perhaps I should...
I HOPE it does not cost me more than £40 per month overall for the 4 of them but I am really not too sure....0 -

They are plastic & most supermarkets sell them. Then put the tin in the fridge - simples :T0
