How much does it cost to feed your cat(s)

Options
We have a 4m old kitten and a 1y 3m old cat.

We bought £10 of dry food on the 22/12 and its very nearly all gone.

They are on good food (iams etc) from Jolleys/Pets at home and we get 4/5 small pouches at each visit and mix it all together.

When we have some more £ and they are both on adult food we'll get bigger bags and mix it and it'll last longer *fingers crossed*

Just curious for some comparisons really.

3 pouches a day, 12 in a box, £2.50 per box... every 4 days the cat costs £2.50... 30 days a month sooooo £2.50 x 7.5 = ~ £20pm is what Boots costs... plus treats but he doesnt need those.

It shouldn't cost no more then £6 a week to feed a cat. £10 in two weeks is good for two cats.

i have recently discovered butchers classic canned food.

6 cans for £2.75 in tesco. 1 can a day is the feeding reccomendation.
it is a good food with no sugar and soya etc and a good meat percentage.

i feed half a can of this along with james wellbeloved dry
jwb is roughly £12-13 for 2kg and is often on offer

with dry food the best thing to do is buy bigger bags
and a high quality food so you dont need to feed as much

We spend about 20pm on our two cats. They have whatever high protein content biscuits are on offer at the time as they arent fussy.

Sometimes they'll have some raw as a treat and occasionally they get some pouches (they love them) if we're feeling flush!

hmmmm so is my maths right or wrong... it's too late for me to be adding up :rotfl:

£6 per week is about right and if we are struggling a little, he gets raw food from the whoopsied section or biscuits or just one less pouch!

I buy 10kg bags of Go Cat/Whiskas biscuits for my 4 purrs. Its about £17 for the first and £19 for the second. One bag lasts 3-4 weeks. My old girl whos teeth are not up to much gets the odd pouch here and there, add £4-£6 on top for that...

It costs us around £3.10 a week to feed our two cats. They get Tiger biscuits from Asda and one pouch a day between them which costs between 20-25p from b and m bargains. They are on a diet at present, with vet supervision, as are a bit on the podgy side.

i only have the one cat, he's 7 months old, i buy dry food when its on offer (still working his way through the big boxes of Purely kitten I got on offer at PAH last year) and he gets half a kitten pouch once each day mixed in (sometimes twice if he's polished it all off). He's not a fussy cat at all (so far anyway).

I guess I spend maybe £2.50 a week (pouches are 12 in a box, 2 boxes for £5), box of dry is about £3 and lasts about 2 weeks)?
