It is not unusual for someone else to make an appointment on behalf of the store manager.

Ok cool, cheers, I just wanted to know.

I'm sure he is a busy man. ;)

  • This is thread thirteen - it has been brought up countless times.

For the majority on here (although not all), the pot of gold you refer to in your sig is the over-riding consideration.

As my sig suggest this I am quite aware, however as you see from my posts, I am new to this specific thread, I have read back through most of thread thirteen, but not 1 through 12. Are you suggesting that I should and therefore not repeat a point already addressed?

There will be many likewise newbies to this thread just getting to grips with, SEL, R&R, and other referred terms. They however, will probably never have undertaken a procedure in store, and would be well advised to be forewarned and armed if pushed so by overzealous CS.

If you have any questions relating to The Consumer Protection Act 1987, as it is understood from the retailers point of view perhaps the following will make interesting reading.

    https://www.dti.gov.uk/files/file8127.pdf-

This clearly describes the point that I am making, as a retailer Tesco are breaking many laws on a daily basis, the policy they have 'In the unlikely event.....' in other countries is undertaken as a means to reduce the costs a court can charge when a law has been broken. It clearly isn't there for the consumers point of view.
As my sig, seems to be offending some. I have removed it, god bless you mr T.

I am not suggesting you do anything you don't want to. I was responding to your post - "are others here aware that it is illegal" - yes they are, to a lesser or greater extent. Does not mean you can't bring it up again and there was nothing in my post to suggest otherwise.

Reading through the last 12 threads would be a challenge for anyone...hell, a couple of them were painful at the time ;)

If old points were not rehashed, this disscusion would have run out of steam twelve threads ago.

I've read with interest and, I must admit, with a small smile over the antics of our very own R&R yobbos.....;)

I firmly believe that for continued success in the R&R game you should treat CS staff politely - even when things aren't going your way.

    Here is what I mean...

On Monday my work took me to the north of England - I stopped on the way up at an Extra store in the Midlands - had a bit ot time so went for a mooch in the Entertainment Section.

Quickly spotted Gripshift on PSP and a new one (well it was then) - the Sex in the City DVD.

Took both to CS lady #1 - R&R with no problems. She produced an overcharge log of some description and wrote the full details of the offending items - including the actual stickers from the products.

Tuesday afternoon - travelling back down south - the wind was behind me - plenty of time - I've been deliberating whether or not to buy (yes, buy!) MI3 for £9.74.

Decided to treat myself and went to the very same Extra Store.

Scoped the CS desk - lady #1 nowhere to be seen. CS lady #2 on duty - she's not known to me.

Grabbed MI3 and had a quick look at the other DVDs - noticed that Sex in the City was still mis-priced - grabbed one and on impulse had a quick look at the PSP games - sure enough Gripshift on display at the wrong price.

Couldn't resist - grabbed both, paid and off to CS queue.

    Suddenly CS lady #1 appears....

I'm served by CS lady #2 - she's about to process the R&R when CS lady #1 notices me and then my items - she interferes and pulls her colleague to one side - fierce whispers 'he was here yesterday...bought the same stuff...I'm not having this....call a manager'.

Now CS lady #2 is not one for conflict - she blushes and tells me there's 'a little problem' whilst CS lady #1 is on the phone talking to a manager.

CS lady #1 then gets out the overcharge log - only one entry since myself the previous day and my transactions are there in black and white. CS lady #1 keeps saying 'You see?' to CS lady #2.

Now I think that the game is up and my best bet would be to leave and claim a R&R from another store - but I decide to wait and see what happens next.

A few minutes later the manager arrives - CS lady #1 is bursting to 'grass me up' - manager asks me if I bought the same goods yesterday - I switch into political mode and avoid the question without lying 'I buy a lot of shopping - I tend to forget what I have and haven't bought'.

The manager then tells me that I can't exchange the goods if she authorises the refund - I acknowledge her - CS lady #2 is then told to action the R&R.

CS lady #1 is stunned - priceless look on her face - as the manager trots off to wherever Tesco management like to lurk.

Now I am convinced that if I had caused a scene - been anything other than polite and plesant to all concerned - that I would not have been given this second R&R - after all I was clearly taking premeditated advantage of the R&R policy.

If you've got this far you lovely newebies - The Dude advises that you think carefully when you R&R and face adversity - a calm approach will often get you the result you want quicker - and with less stress - than a lengthy rant and rave.

    Duderino

    Thanks dude

But after 30 minutes of chat with store manager she refused to give me r+r . Then i went psycho , then i got it :rotfl:

ps its not my local store or really a local haunt so i wont be back :D

ummmmmm I think that might be a bit too late - don't you think so ?, infact while MSE is up and running I can't see the point in posting on the site, putting up a complete list of misprices there, is no better than posting it here.

Personally I hoped that the site would have some privacy, but registration is open to everyone (including Mr T) If this site ever closes then I see a future there, but no point in having it right now.
