Working with what would appear to be the single largest gathering of butch lesbians in the Uk, i will say this - most of them are downright filthy, and others still swing both way no matter how butch they may be. heard many a good story from them.
Goo for it frequent - it may even shock a man (or woman????) of your moral standards!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
I've read with interest and, I must admit, with a small smile over the antics of our very own R&R yobbos.....;)
I firmly believe that for continued success in the R&R game you should treat CS staff politely - even when things aren't going your way.
Here is what I mean...
On Monday my work took me to the north of England - I stopped on the way up at an Extra store in the Midlands - had a bit ot time so went for a mooch in the Entertainment Section.
Quickly spotted Gripshift on PSP and a new one (well it was then) - the Sex in the City DVD.
Took both to CS lady #1 - R&R with no problems. She produced an overcharge log of some description and wrote the full details of the offending items - including the actual stickers from the products.
Tuesday afternoon - travelling back down south - the wind was behind me - plenty of time - I've been deliberating whether or not to buy (yes, buy!) MI3 for £9.74.
Decided to treat myself and went to the very same Extra Store.
Scoped the CS desk - lady #1 nowhere to be seen. CS lady #2 on duty - she's not known to me.
Grabbed MI3 and had a quick look at the other DVDs - noticed that Sex in the City was still mis-priced - grabbed one and on impulse had a quick look at the PSP games - sure enough Gripshift on display at the wrong price.
Couldn't resist - grabbed both, paid and off to CS queue.
Suddenly CS lady #1 appears....
I'm served by CS lady #2 - she's about to process the R&R when CS lady #1 notices me and then my items - she interferes and pulls her colleague to one side - fierce whispers 'he was here yesterday...bought the same stuff...I'm not having this....call a manager'.
Now CS lady #2 is not one for conflict - she blushes and tells me there's 'a little problem' whilst CS lady #1 is on the phone talking to a manager.
CS lady #1 then gets out the overcharge log - only one entry since myself the previous day and my transactions are there in black and white. CS lady #1 keeps saying 'You see?' to CS lady #2.
Now I think that the game is up and my best bet would be to leave and claim a R&R from another store - but I decide to wait and see what happens next.
A few minutes later the manager arrives - CS lady #1 is bursting to 'grass me up' - manager asks me if I bought the same goods yesterday - I switch into political mode and avoid the question without lying 'I buy a lot of shopping - I tend to forget what I have and haven't bought'.
The manager then tells me that I can't exchange the goods if she authorises the refund - I acknowledge her - CS lady #2 is then told to action the R&R.
CS lady #1 is stunned - priceless look on her face - as the manager trots off to wherever Tesco management like to lurk.
Now I am convinced that if I had caused a scene - been anything other than polite and plesant to all concerned - that I would not have been given this second R&R - after all I was clearly taking premeditated advantage of the R&R policy.
If you've got this far you lovely newebies - The Dude advises that you think carefully when you R&R and face adversity - a calm approach will often get you the result you want quicker - and with less stress - than a lengthy rant and rave.

Constantine, I have made arrangements for my meeting with the store manager although I havent actually spoke to him as yet, the guy I've spoke to is the CS manager and it was him that sent me the letter.
I hope this doesnt mean the meeting will be with him and not the store manager, is it usual for the CS manager to make appointments on behalf of the store manager?
Its just that I want to talk to the organ grinder, not his monkey. I have spoke to this CS manager before when claiming an R&R and although he was ok, my beef is with the store manager as I will be wanting to talk about an incident the CS manager was involved in.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
If it doesnt say store manager on the letter then it will probably the customer service section manager! As this has been your point of contact!0

Hello
Just been to my local, got 2 packs of the 1/4 pounders, one Lego star wars xbox game (to go with my r&rd console from last time) and the Sony Ericsson W300i.... not quite got the phone - CS would only refund £20 despite calling the (non-food) manager down for his opinion.... got the story that someone else got earlier "this policy does not apply to till operator errors, that's only for overprices and offers that don't go through (go figure that one!)... I was told that I could return the phone, have my £20 or they could refuse to serve me!! Took my £20 and got on to HO as soon as I got back to the office. I spoke to one nervous girlie who upheld the stores decision - despite my argument that they'd just refunded me for burgers so why not the phone? She then passed me on to her supervisor who had been listening in, who I had a very nice chat with, but who basically wouldn't budge either. He said the same as the store - that policy has been invented to cover them for out of date SELS etc, not when a discount didn't kick in. He said that all stores had been notified that there is an IT issue on this, and that it should be sorted shortly....Thanked him, hung up, re-dialled and spoke to another bloke, who said there'd been great debate there regarding this, and they'd agreed that this is an overcharge - he apologised and said he will call the store to arrange for me to get my refund. Just goes to show it matters who you speak to :T Thanks to all the other posters for the heads up on the phones.

Sure that is policy, however, I've had this chat with several CS, and they mostly complain that nothing is done, and often the offending SEL is simply put back on the shelf...ready to catch more unsuspecting customers.
Sometimes get lucky and find same sel but dif cs in same store, so as The Dude guy suggests, go back for another RR and be very nice.

tbw wrote:I have just posted a letter to head office re the McManis wine. The Tesco Manager denied it was an overcharge and said it was a different product. He did offer me the difference on each bottle "as a goodwill gesture - I certainly don't have to !". The wording on the yellow shelf label (bigger than the SEL) is EXACTLY the same as on the wine bottle label and there is no qualifier stating that the offer only applies to a particular vintage/year. I can't see how any customer can be expected to tell that the offer doesn't include all McManis Family Vineyards Cab Sauvignon regardless of when they were bottled.
I've kept the wine and receipt and also have the yellow label and the normal white label (which shows the higher price) - the Manager gave them to me when I asked him. Is the Manager correct in his assertion that only the higher price immediately under the wine is what should be charged - even when there is a lower price on a different label further along the wine display ? I think he's wrong - surely 2 different priced labels are what a lot of RNRs are based on ? If the wine I bought (2004) wasn't in the offer then I feel they should have printed a yellow label which excluded it (or alternatively said which year WAS included).
Also, should I have sent my letter to Dundee - I've just realised I sent it to the Delamare Road, Cheshunt address !!!
We had exactly the same arguement in a store at the weekend, I protested that the sign applied as it didnt state "Reserve" on it (which was the wine on offer) and that the sign CLEARLY related to that wine, he was having none of it and didnt even offer us the difference, we got a full refund and walked, got the wine in the next store we visited without any problem whatsoever, in fact, the "correct" label for the Mcmannis wine (the one not in the offer) was incorrect anyway, it just said "cabernet" not "cabernet sauvignon" so as far as I was concerned they had no arguement (not that they did argue)Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

My letter was addressed to the store manager personally (by name)
Also in the reply letter I got it does say "we feel it would be beneficial if you had a meeting with the store manager"
I just thought it seemed a bit odd that he hasnt dealt with it personallyMissing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

It is not unusual for someone else to make an appointment on behalf of the store manager.Who or what was I before you came in to my life
I am not sure0
