    It's Friday!!

And my enthusiasm for anything DFW has disappeared along with the sunshine.

A week ago I was all fired up about the new year, new plans and generally looking forward to 2013.

Now, I have had enough of it all. I think that part of it is my OH's total lack of enthusiasm for anything I am trying to do... such as food budgetting -

Me: Is there anything in particular you would like for dinner next week?
    OH: No
    really helpful that!

Me: When shall we do this weeks shopping?
OH: Whenever you like. Maybe early Sunday morning?
He knows I like a little lay-in on a Sunday!!

OH (by email yesterday afternoon): Do you fancy going out for a healthy B@@feater meal tonight?
Me (reply by email): Would love to, but doesn't fit in with healthy eating as you will want steak and chips or our new budget, especially as there are no vouchers for there at the moment!!!
    OH then got the hump!!

He did however cheer up a bit last night and managed to make the soup for dinner!

That reminds me, I must get his £30 off him tonight - I think I will do the shopping when it suits me... and then he can just lump whatever I plan for dinners and lunches next week (no input = no opinion!!)

Other than that, money is all where it should be! YAY!

Oh, and my Q.co claim for £80 cash back on my car insurance has been approved, so I should get that confirmed and as they are faster paying I am hoping I will see it this month!

Coming into work tomorrow - OT, should nett me about £60 extra next Friday!

And that is about it for now....apart from the fact that the house-fairies have moved the USB charger for my fitbit and it is almost flat and I have no idea where the charge is!! I am hoping it will magically re-appear when I get home tonight!!

Have a good one - and any cheap, interesting, tasty meal ideas would be greatfully received!!!

ETA..... Just checked Q.co and even though the insurance company is listed as quicker paying, it could be upto 6 months if you have to lodge a claim to get the cashback. Hey-ho! Won't be rich next month then!!

Have (hopefully) just made the quickest £5 ever.... received an email for an online bingo site I am registered to saying that they will put £5 into my account if I put £10. So I did thinking I would then withdraw my £10 and play their free £5. But, on the withdrawal page it showed the amount available to withdraw as £15.00.... so thats what I have done!
    Fingers crossed it happens!

Received a "successful withdrawal request" email last night for the whole £15.00.

Is it wrong that I am now wondering if I could do it again?

Feeling a bit 'all debted out' today.

I was thinking last night about all the things that we do to carry along our DFW path. Things such as budgetting, saving change, buying on deals shifting pennies between bank accounts to keep them in the black / or to reduce interest on an OD. But I have also been thinking about the things that I don't do.... because I don't have the money....

So, in no particular order, I don't......
    • buy sweets or treats
    • buy shoes
    • buy many clothes (total spent this year £9)
    • buy magazines
    • go to the hairdressers as often as I should do
    • don't get my nails done (although to be honest I am yet to find anywhere that does them as well as I can!)
    • buy myself flowers
    • go for spa days, facials etc
    • buy new things for the house unless it is totally necessary (I have mentally re-decorated the whole house over and over again!)
    • Buy plants for the garden
    • travel to see friends as often as I should / could.
And there we have it - not an exhaustive list by any means! Feel free to add anything else you 'don't do!' whilst on your quest!!

ps, received payslip yesterday, so have updated spreadsheet in readiness of being paid on Friday!!

  • OK so you may miss your treats but I bet you don't miss that sinking feeling followed by blind panic when you were reminded of your growing debt and how would you cope/when would it end. At least the end is in sight. Can not believe how quickly your debt is shrinking I remember before your lovely OH lent you the dosh, does not seem like that long ago :D
    Things I miss :-
    Spontaneous meals out
Not checking prices in supermarkets etc
Buying 'new' as opposed to 'new to me' diving gear.
    Days out!
    Facials:(

    I know, I know, I know - I am a whinging c0wb4g! :o

It just seems that all I do is spend a huge amount of time thinking about money - or rather my lack of ... it's amazing how draining thinking can be!

I know I just need to 'hang on in there'!! The good news is that once I am DF, I already know how much money I will have available to spend / save per week including setting aside money for a pension! All things to look forward too!

So, it is Friday again - money is all where it should be!! :) My current account is looking surprisingly healthy at the moment..... but there is the CC bill to sort out this evening! GULP! Not even looked at it yet... [STRIKE]can't wait[/STRIKE], the next bill to come through, should be sooo much lower now there is no food going on there!! Will need to do some significant OT in the next 4 weeks to make sure that there is enough money in the account to cover the next bill. Transition time!! It's great paying cash for the food etc, but at the same time I have the CC bill to pay this month - March should be a much better month once it all settles down .... and there are 5 paydays too! :D

Right, off to stare at my spreadhseets for a little while - will need to work out how much OT I need to know, although can't get an accurate figure until the CC is paid.... at least I can come up with a rough idea!
