Yay, you are back. And what a lot of updates!

You have inspired me to post my SOA, soon...

Lol I shall get you a round tuit! And as you are not a kiwi you probably don't know what a round tuit is?

It is a round disk that hangs on the wall and has the following writting upon it -

    Ahem!

'You always tell me that you will do so and so when you get around to it. So I have bought you your very own round tuit to hang upon the wall. Now that you have a round tuit, get to it!'

Or something like that anyway :D

  • Well the list of 'things to do' gets a leetle smaller. I've ordered my second chandelier (for the bedroom); it's a very colourful gypsy one that will look like a paint explosion hanging from the ceiling.

I've also applied for two new bank accounts, Santander for the £100 and the 5% for the first £2,500 in the account (fingers crossed it doesn't cause problems with my currently running 8% savings account with First Direct) and Halifax for the £5 a month. It will be a bit of a faff transfering money around all of the time but I'll set alerts in my phone to make sure I remember to do it.

I've also aplied for the TalkTalk phone/internet bundle via the uSwitch webside for the £60 Tesco voucher. My Plusnet account came to the end of the 12 months on the 13th so I can now officially switch over. Plusnet have been great I must say but this deal works out £5 a month cheaper with the voucher so.... After a year I'll be looking for another good deal so it might be back to Plusnet anyway :)

Mmm, what else? Oh yes, thanks to Martins email I applied for a CapitalOne cash back card a couple of weeks ago - the 5% for the first 2 months and 0% interest for 6 months. I was just about to pay for my yearly travel card (£1500) with a cheque from work when I saw that deal. So, I applied and my first transaction has nearly put me at the maxed reward. The chandeliers and a few more bits for the house will very soon see me hitting this. So that's another £100 for things I was going to buy anyway :D Actually, it's more than £100 saved because have a yearly travel ticket saves me two months of travel - at about £132 a month, that's actually around £360 saved. Very nice. Plus you get the Gold Travel Card when you buy a yearly ticket and that gives 30% off train tickets which saved me a little bit last year. I don't travel outside of zone that often but when I do it's nice to get that extra bit of saving. Every bit helps!

Still soooo much to do though. When I think about it I have visions of drowning myself in the sink but I remember that the sink doesn't work properly because I haven't gotten around to replacing the faucet! :rotfl:

So no suicide this week :p

    Laters all.

  • Mmm, just ordered the box of chocolates from the Chocolate Tasters Club deal posted on the site. Along with an hours massage and facial which I got through Groupon, this is a reward to myself for surviving the decorating hell that I have been living in for the last 3 weeks. I am so sick of dust!

:) No I'm not from NZ but I did live there for a few months and bunked in with some locals. But I do not recall coming across a round tuit.

Thanks Billy. I've started to formulate some goals in my head and they are looking a little on the challenging side. Still nothing worth aiming for is ever easy is it? :-)

  • Well I have a job interview tomorrow (internal) that I have been meaning to post about along with some more detailed updates but lack of time keeps impeding my good intentions. Suffice it to say that I have my fingers crossed for this new position; not only will it get me out of my current job which is starting to wear me down/burn me out, but is is a new challenge, a step up in my career and, hopefully,a potentially decent payrise which will be of great help in keeping to all if the goals I have set myself for the next year of mortgage.

If I get this my coming year will really be a productive one!

    Wish me luck :-)
