B&Q had the other day loft insulation for £3 for 3 rolls

I've seen it, but I prefer to use the space blanket, as then the fibres are enclosed and don't itch as much. I had to sort out the bottom 100mm, and we used the space roll for that, and was itching forever, even after having a shower or two. And it is easier with the Space blanket I found. I just need a few more rolls, as we couldn't fit all in the car that we needed last time we were there.

Got mine, they owe me :T bills are from 17th sept to the 30th dec,
    electric was - £96.30
    gas was - £ 355.18 .
EDF want to reduce my DD from £60 per month to £49, and my gas from £100 to £50 per month but have told them to keep them as they are (its a handy saving scheme for me :rotfl::rotfl:)

  • Woa, I think I've won on the higher charged stakes.

I'm with Eon price protection R1 tariff. I live in a small 2 bed house, just myself & OH. The house was built in the 1940s, has old double glazing, new loft insulation.

Central heating is gas & I cook with electric.

This quarter my gas is £295.73

    elec is £107.45

Apparently I've used 8563 kWh gas

    808 kWh elec

I find these very scary numbers & very concerning to say the least. Might have to contact Eon & discuss this.

For info posters should mention their location; of course if you live in Scotland you will probably have higher bills than a comparable household in South East!

  • I live in the North East.
  • After reading this thread I definatly believe something is going wrong with us. We recieved our bill for just December and for gas we owe British Gas £146 - this is just one month :-( I wouldn't mind but we live in a very modest 2 bed terrace. Yes we do have a new baby in the house which we do need the heating on for but in November having used the heating etc the same as december our bill was £56 for gas - what is going on, how can it have tripled? Luckily our electric bill was only £30 for the month.

I also get worried about my gas usage when I look on here. Mine seems high in comparison and I don't even keep it on all day!

So I console myself by telling myself that these posters with low bills live down south or something (hopefully)!

I am in cold yorkshire brrr!

Pay about £300 odd for winter quarters for gas.
