I am so annoyed with t-mobile. I changed contract two years ago and lost my free voicemail. I use voicemail a lot and it now costs a big chunk of my bill. But I am on flexi 25 which gives me one hour free calls, and i only use about half of this.
I have really searched their website and I cant find out if free voicemail is available. Does anyone know?
ps: I am out of contract.
Thanks

Hi. I was with T-Mobile for a couple of years and chose not to use the voicemail as it wasn't free. I changed to Virgin on a Sim only deal (monthly rolling contract not PAYG), pay £15/month, get 400 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited internet, unlimited virgin to virgin calls, and yes, you've guessed it... FREE VOICEMAIL!!
My point is that if you're not tied in to a contract it may be worth changing.0 -
There is a T-Mobile unlimited voicemail bundle. Google it and you will find it. It costs £2.50/month. Or try calling T Mobile on 150 and enquire. I am not allowed to post links otherwise would have pointed you in the right direction.
Alternatively to use another and better and completely free voicemail service try Hullomail. You can use it on any phone and when you call it it comes out of your minutes allowance.0 -
If you changed your contract two years ago you should be able to leave T-mobile by now and go with a network which doesn't charge - such as Vodafone. Not any worse than T-Mobile generally (not saying much!) but I tend to get better overall coverage with them as well as I move around.0

Thanks so much. I think I will change providers, I will look into free voicemail a I am easily spending 10 or 15 pounds a month on that.0

If you change provider, try to avoid Vodafone if you can - their customer service is appalling to say the least and the online account management is an utter joke. Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0

have to say i completely disagree with the above statement, i have found them to be very good, plus an amazing upgrade on a 12 mth deal. bb bold (free), 900 mins, unlimited text, 1gb data, bb service all for £20 pm,i would recommend voda0 -
If you have a Win-Mo phone, there's a little program called iSecretary, which emulates a "real" answerphone, in that it;
Automatically answers the call - Plays a wav. file to the person calling you, then records their response as an audio file to play back later.
Which sound to play & other settings are controlled at runtime in the app itself.
It's at a kind of half complete, half beta stage but its works pretty well on my HTC s620.
It's easy to switch on/off, and as a result I've been able to totally disable my normal T-Mob voicemail so that calls which come to my phone when off don't give the caller the option to leave voicemail at all.
I'm sure the BB OS, the iPhone's OS & Android all must have equivalent proggies, and probably with more current development due to them being vastly more popular these days.
[incedental]
I also use a proggie called PM Recorder to record all incoming & outgoing calls as small compressed audio files, and then maybe once a week or so I can archive the one or two that are worth keeping (or editing for comedy purposes).
Point being, that now smartphones have been invented, things such as voicemail, call ID, and all those other so-called "services" that you have to control via the network ought to have become utterly redundant - just too much of a cash-cow for the phone companies I suppose..0 -
i wouldn't recommend vodafone and they do charge for voicemail (as i'm sure it was included at one point, but then suddenluy charges appeared). I found them very unhelpful often and when trying to renew my contract they could only give me the same as a new customer, hence i've swapped as i was getting tired of their awful customer service:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

I have been with t-mo for a while, and was miffed when they started charging for VM. Girl in the shop suggested changing the VM number (on key 1 longpress) to my own number, so it came out of my minutes -aand it worked for 17 months!! Then they caught up with that scheme and started charging it, but just in time for my contract renewal.
Currently on flext30 which has £180/month of credit to spend, and it includes voicemail, calls overseas, sms, mms, and I haven't had a bill over £30 yet despite using the service with abandon. Worth looking into?0 -

It was such a good deal that they stopped doing it
New users can't get the all inclusive flext plans, existing customers got to keep it (I've still got my flext35) but its gone for everyone else.
PS: you forgot to mention it also includes 08xx calls as well====0
