Good news LV, I love the title too. Some thread titles in here really make me chuckle!
I just looked up Kim and aggy removing smells in youtube, and seem to have found loads of videos on how to undo a bra?!:rotfl::eek: How very odd.!:rotfl:A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

I'm so glad I found this thread! We have been given a sofa which is very nice but it smells a little, I cant pin point what exactly the smell is but I know I dont like it! I would just wash the cushions but they are feather ones so I'm not sure how well that would work really. I have washed the covers several times but they just seem to smell worse with each wash...I'm so confused! what can I do to clean it???0

Hi Angelcakes,
Have a read back through the thread to see discussion of different methods. Personally I would try sprinkling with bicarbonate of soda, leaving over night , and hoovering off.
A lot of others also talk about using febreeze
let us know if you get it sorted
thanks

Hi Zip,
I've read through the thread but as of yet nobody has mentioned how to deal with feather cushions and I'm a novice when it comes to housekeeping lol I was worried that if I spray febreeze on the feathers wont dry properly and will start to go rotten and smell? I have febreezed the covers which hasnt really worked very well but I'll keep at it...bicarb is on my next shopping list also0 -
i would try the bicarb sweetie
Maybe a tester small patch at first? An unobtrusive spot (great use of the word! ) :j:D

Hi All,
Wasn't sure where to post this but here goes...
We've got a chenille sofa and hubby had an operation 5 weeks ago which has meant he's had to sleep on the sofa since the op because he couldn't manage getting in and out of bed.
Anyways, the sofa now smells.....for want of a better term...."manly"
Only I notice it, but could do with getting the odour out of the fabric before it increases.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can remove the odour?
Thanks :j;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0 -
I'd give it a good dose of febreeze if I were you! Certainly works on mine after the cat has been on it!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

How about covering it in Bicarb, leaving it overnight, then hoovering it off and then spraying febreeze all over.
If you can wash cushion covers....Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
I hope your hubby is recovering
I've merged this with our stinky sofa thread so you can read back
thanks
