How do you close and exit the web browser on a Samsung Galaxy Apollo?
Help - How do you exit the web browser on a Samsung Galaxy Apollo? The google screen has no x option on the top tool bar and there are no instructions in the user guide about how to close and exit the web once you have finished browsing. What are we missing?

click the home button (the big one in the middle at the bottom)0

....this takes you back to the home screen but if you then click on Internet you get returned to the page just left, and it is not clear if previous Internet session has been closed or not.0

Em.. this is an android phone right? If it's the stock browser - then clicking menu should bring up the menu and at the bottom and exit should be available?
Be aware that Android doesn't actually exit programs when you stop using them, it simply holds them in memory until you start using them again or another program needs the memory.
If you are concerned about security, download Dolphin mini from the app store as that will prompt you to delete History and cache everytime you hit exit, the app will still be running in the background but you should find that when you return to it, you will be on the home page.0 -
Yes its a standard android phone. Not quite sure what you meant - as before there is no x (for close/exit) icon on the browser screen.
If, while browsing you press the large home button in the bottom centre of the phone, it does indeed take you back to the home screen. If you then select Internet to browse again, it brings up the same screen you were last viewing so it is by no means clear if you have exited or been online all the time or not.
There are no other exit buttons available for the browser anywhere else.
It's partly security which is a concern, but also cost, as we are being charged while connected.0 -
can you not set it to show the bookmarks page as default? might be under settings in the web browser. (when in the web browser click menu button and one of the options)0

Have you a back button on the front of your phone . If so that's what Android uses to close a program not the home button .
Its usually a bent arrow on the right of the home screen .

That just goes back a screen, does not appear to close anything.0

Get app killer from the market to kill any running apps .

Forget the home button, there should be a menu button of some description on the phone. It should be to the left of the home key and look like two lines in a box.
Also forgot looking for X icons, that's a desktop thing and you will not find that on android.0 -

Bad idea, Android will simply think the program has crashed and restart it in the background. When you use a task manager to kill apps all you do is cause problems with how the OS handles memory, avoid them.0
