Father in law bought some paint before xmas, Similar situation only had 2.5Ltr tins of teh colour he wanted.

I didnt even ask the staff, Just took a tin & went around the other ranges to spot something that matched
but in 5Ltr tins. Found a different brand which was £1 less as well.

Go weds and OAP's get a discount.

It's akin to you moaning about Tescos not selling one type of beans over another.

Not quite ... not that they don't sell a particular type, more that they restrict supply to the poorer value smaller size only.

Simply put, they cannot sell you or charge you for what they don't physically have in store.

They can alter the price of what they do have - it's what they do for the clearance stuff :D

the store just don't offer that line of product that is probably a slow seller and they can have better things on the shop floor to sell.

... it'd be hardly surprising if it's a slow seller if they only sell it in the poorer value small size.

as an ex employee of b&q every employee should either let the customer know when the next delivery of the product is in ( all employees can access this information on any of the computers installed around the stores ) , or if the customer is in need of the product sooner and they can get to another store they can offer to check another store`s stock ( easy to do ) or phone another store and reserve the product for the customer to go and pick up , if you could remember the name of the staff member then i would complain as this is part of there duties ,

id complain to the store manager about the ignorance of the staff .
    hope this helps xx
    hope this helps

sounds to me like the member of staff didnt help the customer to her full ability there was a few things she could have done ,and didnt ,she shouldnt have said oh theres nothing she can do as she should have done things i mentioned above
