Are you confusing the Pulse mini with the original Pulse?

Spec wise the Pulse mini and San Francisco are pretty similar (528mhz vs 600mhz processor), except for screen resolution where the San Francisco is better.

For the average user who thinks they want a smartphone (but won't really use it for things like intensive browsing) the Mini would be pretty adequate and as this is MSE the fact you can buy 2 Pulse Minis for the price of one San Francisco should also be considered.

Having been looking at some cheap deals lately I thought I'd volunteer some information.

There is currently a (recent and?) significant difference in the direct T-Mobile deals and those via resellers, at least for an android or internet demanding phone.

On an android phone direct T-mobile contracts are including the "unlimited internet" booster free in a modified form "internet on your phone Plus" and giving it a 3 GB usage cap. And they are still giving you a normal free booster (so one of unlimited texts/landlines/t-mobile/etc). This has effectively made those contracts £5 (or more) cheaper than they appear and gives you the higher usage cap.

Some other t-mobile contract phones are coming with the "internet Plus" booster at 1 GB cap and another booster. This isn't as generous as the android deal but its another £5 booster included in the price.

Otherwise on t-mobile or via resellers its the normal "unlimited internet" booster at £5 giving a 1 GB cap or a single booster for free in the contract which you might choose to be the internet one.

Do watch out for:

• loads of reseller deals on internet phones that DO NOT INCLUDE ANY internet data usage. They sound good until you factor in the extra £5pm and it would be very expensive to use the internet without any bundle/booster/addon, even just for the first week or month.
• Also watch out for orange who seem to think 250Mb/month is enough on many deals.
• On a number of the networks the amount of data you get bundled is often linked to the contract's official monthly price, so a cheaper (ie. low minutes) contract may not allow you to even buy a large data allowance.

A few resellers and or networks do have deals involving refurbished (ie. returned) handsets and that can turn up some bargains.

Hi could you explain what you mean about how its unlocked please. I dont follow. You replied to me yesterday regarding the difference between an lg cookie and an orange sanfranciso. Today i bought the mini pulse from t mobile. One of the considerations was the fact that they were offering free texts for life and free 6 months unlimited internet use worth £20 then if i wanted it again in 6 months i could pay £20. BUT i ve just had a horrible feeling that i might have to top up £10 every month but that wasn t mentioned so i hope not. Im going in tomorrow to find out. :mad:

Don't worry about unlocking if you are staying on T-Mobile.

The 6 month free wifi doesn't need any top ups, when you first put the sim in you should have received a text from T-Mobile saying the free internet is active. If you didn't just ring 150 and get them to make sure it's activated.

Hi again, I know the internet part doesn t need any top ups for the first 6 months at least. What i meant was for the calls part of the fone. Its apparently free texts for life so therefore the £10 would only be for calls if everything else is covered iyswim. I dont call much so probably wouldn t use the £10 very quickly so i dont want to be having to put £10 in every month just for calls. Im going to find out asap. I like the fone tho for what my limited experience is worth to anyone.

The free texts are different to the free Internet as to keep the free texts does require a top up each month. I found this:

Get unlimited texts for free plus 6 months free internet
Top up just £10 each month and get unlimited free texts the whole of the next month

Get cheaper international calls, texts and internet

Join T-Mobile and you can use Orange's signal too

Yes your right, i found that out when i called in the shop today. However their texts are 11p each now with vat huh so in a way it makes sense for me to keep my tesco mobile sim going on another fone purely for texting as its only 5p for 5 favourite numbers which suits me. I wouldnt spend £10 a month on calls and texts anyway as im quite a light user so i have 2 options to choose from i guess. Unless you know of any better deals for me Ps i also have £21 to use up on either an orange network or unlocked fone lol
