They are both convinced that they should have iPhones, I have swayed them away from this idea, with the £40pcm pricetag plus up front cost. However they are now convinced that they should be able to get an android phone for £10-15 per month, without paying anything up front. I can't seem to find anything that fits the bill or price range. But i know alot of you lovely folk are super deal hunters
The basic criteria is:

Dad currently has a Blackberry Curve (1st gen) which he cant work, on an O2 simplicity deal £10pcm, 100 mins, 100 txts, unlimited web (the web has never worked).
Mum currently has an old Samsung slider on same deal £10pcm, 100 mins, 100 txts, but her bolt-on is unlimited evening and weekend landline calls.
Thanks in advance guys
The basic criteria is:
- 100mins
- 100 txts
- 250MB data
- £10-15pcm
- Free phone!
- Dad is keen on HTCs.
- Mum just wants a touchscreen lol.

Best deal on Wild Fire:
300 Minutes + Unlimited Texts + 500MB Data
£8.33 monthly (£25.00 before cash back)
In Silver:
http://www.moneysupermarket.com/mobile-phones/brands/htc/wildfire-silver/
In Brown:

White is more expensive by a few pennies on t-mobile.
One more thing is that http://www.topcashback.co.uk/home give you cash back for some mobile selling websites, one I saw is at £50.50!! That would lower the cost to £6.23 a month! Watch out for small diff in prices due to the VAT rise.

Oh my goodness, I feel like all I do now is big up the San Francisco :j
£15 per month
Unlimited texts
50 Voice calls
250mb Data
Orange magic numbers
And to the OP - it's a great phone for apps and ease of use.0 -
Hi,
If I understand your original post correctly, you seem to think that your parents think they want one thing but really will be happy with someless much less high tech. Is that correct?
The T-mobile pulse mini is down to about £50 or £60 (Argos and T-mobile website have it). Is this phone suitable?
Ditch the included PAYG sim card.
Get a £6/month SIM each from www.chitterchatter.co.uk providing
100 minutes
100 texts
unlimited internet (actually 1GB data limit I think)
and once your mum realises she isn't using the internet on her touchy feely phone then she can swap unlimited internet for unlimited landline calls instead, or unlimited texts, or unlimited calls to anyone else on t-mobile.
£120 ish upfront and then £6/month for each phone works out at £8.50 per month for each phone over 24 months.
If the basic principle of paying upfront is out, they could get a couple of T-mobile Vibe phones, or something similar, from AdditionsDirect.co.uk using the buy now pay 14 months later interest free deal on at the moment, the £82 total order can be paid from saving up less than £4 per month for each phone over the first 12 months of the £6/month SIM contracts - making total outlay per month less than £10 even during the first year. (if this option appeals, pay IN FULL well before the end of the interest free period as they will back date interest from purchase date at a whopping 39% if you haven't paid in full).
Not quite android phones I know, but I hope this helps!0 -

Is the phone unlockable? :think:0 -
I'm about to buy myself a Samsung i5500 Europa. It's an android smartphone which seems to get good reviews though obviously I can't personally vouch for it yet. It's available PAYG for around £80 (£90 with the compulsory top up purchase) and as suggested you can swap the SIM and even keep the existing contract as very few phones are locked to network at Carphone warehouse. Your mum would need to change her bolt on to unlimited internet to be able to get the most from the phone (though you can disable all but the WiFi internet if necessary)
It's also offered on monthly deals for around £10 - £15 a month that fit your requirements by Talk mobile and 3. I can't add the link but just look on CPW website for the phone on pay monthly.
I agree though with Stuart_W, it may be worth considering why they need smart phones and see if there's a "smarter" but cheaper phone that will meet their needs. You can pick up touch screen phones with internet options for very cheap.0 -
Well, a month or so ago I got from mobiles co uk:
100 min
100 texts
unlimited data
a free HTC Wildfire
an 18 month contract at £20, but with 12 months free by redemption, so: £6.67 in reality,
plus as I signed through the top cash back site first, I also got £50 cashback for signing a new contract, bringing the monthly total to £3.90.
Ridiculous :rotfl:!!!!
I'm very happy with the new toy and the mega bargain I bagged :T
It was a T-mobile contract, no idea if it's still around, but the website is well worth a look, there were many cheap deals there.0 -

Pulse mini is pretty easy to unlock, software needs credits bought of €10 and unlocks in seconds.====0 -
Pulse is fairly old. Try get the San Francisco and see if you can push to get the £10 T-Mobile deal that comes up. 12m at £10 a month for 600mins 500 texts and unlimited internet plus booster.0
