Hi caracara - I have no idea if there is another thread. Tried looking but nothing came up and it would seem that Sue-UU has not posted for a few days. I sincerely hope that she is not unwell - if so, we must send her lots of :A
Keep on posting and someone will be around to listen. Am I right in thinking that you are doing this cold turkey? Well done you!
i have done it cold turkey have tried all the other normal routes and for me it is just delaying the inevitable horrible bit so bit the bullet dont get me wrong did slip once but made me so ill realised what a waly i was.

I've also PM'd Sue - I'm so angry that she's been wound up & possibly is upset. No one could have worked harder to help others. I really couldn't have done it without this thread & Sue.
I sincerely hope she's okay & the wind up merchants go & start another thread elsewhere.0 -
Hi Choille, I'm puzzled as I can't work out who you think are "wind up merchants"
All I can see is lots of people giving lots of support & discussing alternative methods to stopping smoking. Also can't see why Sue could possibly upset about that?0 -
Choille, My strength came from sue the thread and that first page with the links to the whyquit site. also that little promise of just not smoking today and if i still want one i can consider my options the next day( that way stops the old grey matter and im not talking about my hair thinking it is being deprived)

Day 16 - Patches and Inhalator
Morning all,
Hope you're all doing ok today. I'm doing really well. Didn't use my inhalator at all yesterday!! Uesd it once so far today, but I think I'm almost at the point of being able to cut it out (except for when drinking, am worried about that, got friends coming round Thurs night, so am keeping a good supply on inhalator capsules just in case!!). I think the only reason I used it this morning is cos I forgot to put my patch on when I woke up and about 9am suddenly had a craving. Have got my patch on again now tho, so hopefully that will sort it!
Am going to ask clinic if i can cut the patches down to stage 2 when I go on Thurs. I'm still on the stage 1 ones at the mo, but as I've reduced the inhalator so much I'm hoping I can reduce the patches too.
I've now not smoked 246 cigs and saved myself £71.19!!! Also added 20hrs to my life, so that's another 20 hours I can spend with my gorgeous boys!! Amazed that I'm still feeling so positive about all of this.
Oh and I don't have ezcema, but do suffer from really spotty skin, am hoping that I'll see an improvement in that as this process goes on. My sister has bad ezcema and gets her creams from the dr, so it's a lot cheaper!! She has special stuff to wash with as well as creams to rub on her skin.

Carcara - couldn't agree more. The 'not smoke today' seemed managable, achievable & that's what did it for me in the main & the forum here & all the cheering each other on - wonderful.
You're doing so well Flis - but you are also wise not to be complacent. Alcohol can definately reduce will power & the risk is to think,' one won't do any harm' you have to be on your guard at new encounters - always have a plan & think it out before meeting new challenges - be aware.
Will you ask them to go outside to smoke?
The money soon stacks up - fags are soooooooooo expensive.0 -
Going beautifully...........
Keep going all and happy Monday All!!!0 -

Hi choille
I, too, have PM'd Sue but have not received a reply. Let's hope that she has not been made ill. Only the folk on here, those who have benefited from her love, care and kind words, could understand the effect she has had on so many lives. The empathy is palpable and Sue remembers all of us, no matter how long we have been away, living our nicotine-free lives!
Good to see you back - how is the house building? Did you get inside before winter arrived?

Well done, flis21 - those stats are fantastic and you sound positive, too!
Have you thought of a treat you can buy yourself with some of the money you have saved? There has to be some reward! I remember going to have a consultation at the MAC counter and coming away with a bag of goodies. Felt so good about myself, especially when I passed the smokers huddling in the cold February air.
Having just read your signature maybe you could find something other than the MAC counter!!;)

I haven't been on for ages cos certain folk 'had a go at me' and falsely accused me. Only got the link via another forum....
Tis life. Have a cupcake and move on...
For the record I had a few teething probs which seemed to last months with the e-cig. Why is it us vapers can quit the cigs yet can't resist 'shiny things' LOL.....
Quite happy though now on my 26mg/ml that I've just dropped down to.... Yeah I'm using the e-cig to come completely off nicotine but no massive rush. Don't think my neurones could take it!!!..... Hate any pressure to come off the e-cig too soon. Even if it is well meaning. It's well meaning and ignorant. Patronising even. It's cheap enough as my spreadsheet proves. I've had 'massive' spends on the e-cig past two months and even with all that my average spend per week is just £22 (I have the spreadsheet to prove it
). I bought new tanks (cheap ones)...equipment for making tanks (some of it I ordered wrong LOL) and various other things and a shiny new e-cig (£20)....:j Still only £22 a week spent even with all this new stuff.....then I had the wrong cartos for the tanks so had to order some from the UK - that was tad expensive (cheaper from china) but still :j
For people wanting to reduce nic/ml on e-cig don't do it before 2 months. Otherwise it'll end in tears (believe me that was me over the summer) then gradually. It's what I've done
...and it's working. Currently I'm reducing by 2mg/ml every 3 weeks and it suits me fine
. Medics are happy
Also you may have started on too high/too low a concentration. Symptoms of too high = nic overdose symptoms. Too low = massive craving for cigs for a day or so (really my cravings even when very bad now don't last more than a few minutes)....If you are the latter increase nic conc by a wee bit. You should be fine....really don't go back to the weed this can be fixed
....
