Got my seals (o-rings) for free :)

But then it still leaked so may have to go back and like get more....think it will cost me a few bob....

So maybe tomorrow? When I get paid - or Wednesday....not far away to get the seals but still...

Less grumpy which is good. I think I should get 25 seals of each min if not 50...they are pennies...

  • Hi all

The withdrawal from Nicotine can affect each person very differently- so no wonder people are on here suffering from every imaginable problem. An old friend of mine swears they once saw a cigarette driving a car during one of their attempts to give up!!! That still cracks me up but they still insist they saw it to this day.

    Here are my stats:

Two months, five days, 20 hours, 5 minutes and 37 seconds. 1002 cigarettes not smoked, saving £333.35. Life saved: 3 days, 11 hours, 30 minutes.

I thought I would post this as the 'cigs not smoked' figure really got to me: That is over 1000 times I have not stood at the back door, sat in the car, walked down the street just to smoke a cig; it just seems an incredible number- and over such a short space of time really. I have been making use of the time well too- I have finally got my website up and running- I had been meaning to do that all last year!! My children have also noticed that I can do most things for them straight away- not 'give me 5 minutes while I nip for a cigarette'. And this doesn't factor in the extra time spent going to buy cigs, going to another shop when the 1st one doesn't have your brand or rolling the cigs- which I did on occasions to try and save money.

So my tip this week is to try and make use of the extra time you will inevitably have on your hands- you will notice the difference and this will be yet another positive reinforcer for your quitting journey.

    Good luck all

    FDM
I do not smoke. I last smoked on 03 November 2011. I will not give in to that awful addiction again.

I feel a wee bit of a nic overdose judging by my blood sugar levels but no nausea :)

Anyhow just had to post a pic of my next mod (e-cig) that is on my wish list :) (as a main one with the current one as spare)

    Very nice Erme :D

Well done to all the quitters - I think we are winning here!!

I'm now almost finished day 8!! Feeling very sick and shaky today though - I thought the physical withdrawal would have been over by now but maybe it is still a bit to soon!! :(

    Keep going folks!!

Thank you Sue-UU - that was such an inspirational post. I keep thinking about it when I feel down.

Day 5 and still staying strong.

I'm on stage 1 of the 21g patches, and maybe it's psychological but I don't think I can do cold turkey - I feel that I need the patches. Nicotine isn't great but at least I don't have the tar to accompany it right? :T

AND for the first time EVER since I have tried to quit, I've not cheated with a quick ciggie after having a drink. I've had drinks on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (stressful after work). Okay - maybe I'm bad for having a quick pint or two most days but I need some fun :o . The fact that I drank and didn't feel tempted by a smoke makes me feel a bit proud of myself. It certainly helps that none of my friends smoke anymore, so I can stay 'in' the conversation, rather than having to go for a cigarette after each drink! Lol :D

Just approaching the 72 hour mark! Yay :j

Didn't sleep much last night and have been hanging today. First non-smoking day at work and it went ok. The inhalator is really working for me when cravings get going. Knitting is also a big help :D

alibob - happy birthday for this week and stay strong on Friday! Remember that you are an ex-smoker now - no going back, y'hear? :)
  • Well.. last night I stupidly met up with relatives for a pint. That pint turned into everyone getting drunk.
So this morning I'm feeling dreadful and have to force myself up and get a shower before my Asda order comes. And I need to find my energy and motivation before the kids are back.

Has anyone else experienced the mocking yet? It seems when smokers realise you've quit they get enjoyment from asking you if you want a cig and making out your missing something awesome :(

Well I didn't give in to them. Told them I don't smoke anymore. I'm now starting day 9 and still cold turkey.
The money I save is being saved up so I can see bigger results.

We can do this :) we are strong and we smell lovely!
  • Morning everyone, Just found this thread and thought I'd hop in. Had my last ciggie on Saturday so only day 3 for me, but so far so good!

Cold turkey works best for me, though I've given up this way in the past and always started again. RainbowDreamer: I like that, we do smell lovely!
