Does anyone know how many tailor mades smoking 6 oz of tobacco equates to a week? It's just that I'm trying to limit myself to 25mg of NRT spray a day and I've just had 4 roll ups (thin wanted no more) after 20 hours of not a single puff. I just wonder if I'm getting enough nicotine....

I am also very hot so opened the windows wide :D

Amazing how your circulation rapidly improves after not smoking

So tired yet can't sleep. DV (God Willing) it'll be no more smokes today :) If so I will keep you guys posted....I just gave in cos I had so much anxiety and depression with the nicotine withdrawal but I'm determined on this one IT'S NOT GOING TO BEAT ME - did phone the local smoking advice line who couldn't understand what I was panicking about? Huh? Go figure. They said I have 4 weeks to quit on the NRT so DV by Monday I'll be on even less if not off. Just get me through the first few days :) I figure 5 a day compared to what I was smoking is nothing....and it will get easier. I know it will. And I fought the depression for years before anti depressants so I know all the self talk..... The depression is a nightmare but it won't beat me. It actually started about 10am and it was gone 12.30 before I gave into it...:T

So yeah guys...I need you.....I have no one hardly to phone tomorrow and if daily agendas are out the window I shall be restless and bored....

So don't go anywhere folks....Cos without you guys this is impossible....

    Hi Erme

thank you for the advice and please dont apologise all help is gratefully received :D I live in a small village and the pharmacist is a bit of a nightmare, tried the dr's to see if he would write me a prescription and that was a no go, he advised me to go through nhs, so I now have an appointment with a smoking cessation advisor next week:j

Good luck Erme with your journey in stopping as well, we can all do it! Love your idea about treats as well, I may adopt that :D

about 40 a day going by what the expects say you should get the equivilent of 20 tailor made cigarettes per 12.5g.

Well no wonder I didn't manage to succeed on 25mg of NRT a day Andrew...

Sorry I've not been on...Yesterday was the most sick I've been for months so back on the cigs for now :(...don't know how long for ...we'll see.

It started off as just being low...then I had my OT at 2 missing lunch and wasn't connecting and feeling really spaced out and things...Went to the ward to try and take my mind off cigs....Just made me feel worse. Somehow struggled home despite not being able to cross roads and listening to the voices the entire way home. Went back on the cigs. It didn't help. I must have sat and chain smoked for about 2 hours when I got home. Tried extra meds. No help. Just felt really low and horrid and couldn't even get on here because felt so rotten I was smoking again :(. Phoned a few friends one of whom said the voices were demonic which didn't really help ....and then they got worse straight after that and wanted me to self harm...I wasn't going to do that just for not smoking :)

So yeah I think I will go the smoking cessation worker on Thursday but maybe suggest strong patches and like spray for the first few days. Even if it's 35mg I'm getting - it's got to be a good thing. Going from 40 a day to 25 is just too much

Och well done you Lippy :j...having a huge anxiety attack as I speak. Yesterday very little got done what with the depression etc. I pray it shifts soon otherwise I'm back in the psych ward for a few days :(...This am I was okay @ 7 for a few hours then got paranoid and anxious about 8.....so went to bed...

I'm going to go to the smoking cessation worker on tuesday and maybe try like the mental health smoking cessation worker. If worst comes to worst there's always e-cig :D

    Blessings

Having suffered from Anxiety and Depression for a large portion of my life I can tell you giving up smoking makes it worse, in fact I would say don't attempt it until you have the other issues under control.

On a different note can anyone tell me does the morning cravings get any easier? First thing I think about when I wake each morning is "I want a fag" I'm on week 4 or 5 i've lost count:o but its got no better. I actually miss standing out at the back door cuppa coffee in one hand, fag in the other, the early morning breeze with the coffee and fag really did set you up for the day

The longest I've gone in the past 6 months without a cig is on the e-cig sluggar...So I think that's your best bet...You can get them from a number of reputable firms right now online (I can pm you some if you like)....

Feeling better so now on a combo of e-cig and spray...sure it's going to work this time - eventually hoping to get 100% on e-cig/puffer in a few months though it could take me a few months....

I need very strong nicotine see for the first week or so but just spoke to a friend who thought she'd never quit and she quit using the e-cig :) and plus when you want to reduce you just dilute it with vegetable glycerine from Boots....

    I CAN DO THIS....

    E
PS. Sluggar....you're cig free...your lungs are better. Why not replace that early morning cuppa with an early am run...try couch to 5k (google it) and you're away.....Or if not a run - go get a takeaway coffee (or make your own) and go for a brisk walk...no reason you shouldn't get your early am fresh air just cos you're not smoking ...Hugs
