Colour scheme

Not sure whether my daughter will like green, not one of her favourite colours!! I like the idea of turquoise actually. I dont know what colour I will get married in if thats what the BM dress is! Not sure I can do white!! lolMarried the absolute love of my life on Sunday May 6th and I couldnt be happier!!!0

I had planned on having blue as my very fabulous wedding shoes are a lovely sky blue colour but I couldn't find any BM dresses to match and ended up falling in love with a coral coloured dress for my BM. I just found the perfect blue tie for OH on Friday so it'll kind of bring it together and not make my shoes look too odd! My invites were blue passport holders and the writing was coral coloured so it kind of picked up on that. We're not exactly having a formal wedding so I'm not too bothered if it all goes or not, I don't even know what my flowers will be like since I don't get to choose them until I arrive at the hotel!
I think the trick is definitely go with your favourite colours rather than following the trend, or indeed trying to buck the trend. My friend made a big deal about picking a 'totally different' colour scheme of sage green and blush pink... and it's a really hot colour scheme now! At least she can find lots of things to go with it! I think it's a lovely colour scheme BTW, but I think her reasons behind it aren't the best... and her OH hates pink!
Some really lovely colour schemes are being mentioned, I wish I could have 6 weddings so I could have them all! :rotfl:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Me too! xx0 -
if you want to go with the fashion because itll be easy to source your best bet is getting the bridal mags like cosmo bride and see what theyve got going xI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0

The one thing I really dont want to do is buy ANY mags. I did that for my last wedding and was gutted that I couldnt have all the things they said I 'should' have. I know now looking back that I really only need the things we want, but I still want to resist the lure of the mags if possible.
I really dont care if the colours I choose are fashionable or not, no one could ever accuse me of being a dedicated follower of fashion, i just wondered what everyone was having this year.
Perhaps I will edit my original post......Married the absolute love of my life on Sunday May 6th and I couldnt be happier!!!0 -
i kn ow what you mean, itll be easier to get whats in fashion from the shops rather than choosing your own and not finding it, thats why the mags are good because they tell you whats coming into the stores but yes they also throw everything you dont need down your throat!
you could also go round bridal shops and ask them what colours are inI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
We're going for dark blue with fushia pink accents to contrast.
Didn't take us too long to decide which I was surprised with!0 -
We're going for a colourful scheme, with yellow, pink, purple and turquoise. Our bridesmaids will be in different colours, so no matching necessary and they can pick their own styles too.
It started off with just yellow and turquoise, but my daughter loves pink and purple so they got added in too! I love it tho, its going to be very bright, and I love it that not everything has to be matchy matchy as then I can pick up more bargins :TMarried my lobster in July 2011
TTC # 2 since Oct 2011 - good things come to those who wait
 2013 is going to be our lucky year :dance:0 -
We are having navy blue with ivory. The navy is one of the colours in my H2B's tartan so it seemed a good colour to pick. However if you want flowers in the matching colour do your research beforehand as navy blue flowers are quite rare (either fake or dyed)!0

I much prefer this take on "theme" (ie no theme). I'll probably go for matching dresses, but accessories etc are flexible. Plus my flowers will be multi coloured, so it'll be hard for anything to "not" go with them0
