Ideally i would want to cancel the contract , if it helps i have recentlly moved out of the address where the phone is regestered to . ( but the house is my parents house so would not want anything to effect there credit rating )

    thanks matt

Does not help but any Vodafone contract called YOUR PLAN (or YP) cannot be changed for the term of the contract.

YP got introduced middle of last year I think.

If they were paying you £50 per month and said it wasn't good enough, would you give them a discount or say they should honour their contract as they had agreed to it at the outset and were not forced into it ?

Answer that and you will have found your answer.............
Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.

The whole point of a contract is that you commit for the whole period. I can't see any way out just on the basis you don't want to spend so much any more. Sorry

    I agree.

You should have thought about that before you took contract out.

Pretty much your only chance is to find someone who wants to take the contract over for you. A friend or family member may agree to do this if they're getting a free iphone out of it.

You could also try appealing to their better natures and pleading poverty, they may let you downgrade. Mobile phone carriers better natures are pretty elusive though.

Just a thought, the OP didn't say they had an iPhone as far as I can see, bris sugested that, I assume on the expiry date of April 2012 whcih means the contract was taken on either April 2010 (24 months and not an iPhone 4 too early) or Oct 2010 (could be anything, iPhone 4 was out 24th of June).

IIRK Vodafone won't let you move the contract to somoene else, Only Orange used to let you do that.

According to 191 they will let you do so, the contract it concerned with me was out of commitment period however.
