vodafone contract cancelation help
i have a vodafone contract phone and want to cancel the contract as it is getting to expensive and i have asked to reduce my price plan as too expensive . They said that i couldnt change my priceplan i replied that it was'nt good enough . They cameback saying i have to pay the rest of the contract and that doesnt end untill april 2012 ...... HELP whats can i do ???
Ideally i would want to cancel the contract , if it helps i have recentlly moved out of the address where the phone is regestered to . ( but the house is my parents house so would not want anything to effect there credit rating )
thanks matt

Bump for this. I'm currently on a similarly expensive Three plan; I stupidly thought I would need a higher-premium contract.
Any possible outs for this would be great! Thanks.0 -
The whole point of a contract is that you commit for the whole period. I can't see any way out just on the basis you don't want to spend so much any more. Sorry0

I'm afraid you're both out of luck, you've signed up to a contract agreeing to pay £X for Y months, unfortunately a change in your circumstances or requirements will not void this contract. The best you can do is phone them up, speak civilly to them and hope for a goodwill gesture such as a reduction in your tariff, but that will be at their discretion.0

Absolutely true. If you care to search this forum, you will see many, many similar threads, but all sharing the same answer.
You signed a contract and you are obliged to see it through. If the network does give you any reduced monthly fee, then it is at their discretion and it doesn't happen very often.0 -
Sell the phones and pay the contract off.
There are thousands of people take these contracts out and then want to cancel them down the line.
It is a legally binding contract which you have signed and cannot cancel. full stop.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

No.
You agreed to a legally binding contract to pay £X for Y months without the ability to switch to a lower contract.0 -

Of course youre not pleased with their answer because they are saying 'NO' and if you read the other posts you will see that there is absolutley nothing you can do about it.
Why did you sign the contract.
What is different now than when you signed it.

Why would they reduce the payments when you have agreed to pay £50pm? I presume that this is a 2 year contract and you are only 8 months in, or an 18m contract and you are only 2 or 3 months in?
After you are over half way through they just might let you drop to a lower monthly plan, but not yet. And if you go in with your current approach of 'it's not good enough' then you are certainly not going to get any reduction, as it's entirely at their discretion. No free lunch, and no free laptop
