Thoughts on Quidco cashback & Sim only deals

Hi & Happy New Year to all!

Ok so here's my question:

1) My 'pay monthly' mobile phone contract with 02 is up for renewal
2) I'd like to learn more about sim-only deals
3) Has anyone ever used Quidco to link into a deal
4) Is it worth doing a 24 month deal?

So there are my questions. I currently have a Nokia 5800 express which works fine. My exisiting contract is 600mins (+200 as a bonus) = 800mins, 1000 texts & unlimited internet for £30pm I'm sort of reluctant to renew for 2 more years at a time. So would like to explore the sim-only option for value. What do you think? I've been with 02 for years but now there are a multitude of deals to be had online etc including cashback from Quidco. Yours thoughts and suggestions welcome. Many thanks!

You don't state what you're currently paying.

Hi there ... sorry £30pm ... I've sort of been offered the same deal with 02 for 24 months @30pm 500mb internet & unlimited uk text. I don't like the 24 month committment thing. I've been with 02 for many years. However I saw a cashback offer via quidco giving £150 with Vodaphone which i must explore further.

I bought a VF £15 a month sim deal for my daughter in July and the Quidco didn't track until I complained.

    Apparently this is quite common

It has been showing as 'Validated' since the beginning of December

Excuse my ignorance but I've never had a 'sim deal' what does it entail?

The deal consists of a sim card only and no phone and are often much cheaper. Depending on the terms, you often only have to give a month's notice.

I humbly suggest you explore it further by searching this forum for Vodafone/Quidco's extremely poor record on settling with members.

So don't count on your £150.

Best bet is to just take a look at the usual providers. All will most likely be better than your current deal and cheaper, yet on a monthly rolling contract or 12 month contract.

Make sure you do through quidco though for cash back.

Yes thanks, i don't want to commit for 2 years! ... monthly or rolling feels better. Is there a website that gives the spread of providers to compare etc?

These are all sim only deals and can be had for 30 days rolling contract or a 12 month contract.

There is also Tesco Mobile £10pm ( 30 day rolling contract) for 500 mins, unlimited texts and data ( in reality 500Mb)

Or Giffgaff - buy a £10pm good bag and have 250 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited data ( truly unlimited)

Hello, Many thanks for posting. I like the look of the Tesco Mobile Sim deal. What network is Tesco on? & are they reliable?
