Mine is up for renewai in Feb so will be interested to see how you get on Conf.

I must admit when I renewed last year whilst still BR I didn't have any problems with finding an insurer and most I tried didn't rate on BR so that was good. However if insurance has gone up in general then it will be a case of shopping around for the best deal.

    Good luck hun x

I would recommend you find your insurance through the main MSE site. I saved £££s last year renewing mine and OH's car insurance. Be sure you go through all the steps and see if there is cashback.

    Hi confused!

I recently renewed and went through Co-op, my renewal came through from Direct Line who I had been with for years and years as they were always the cheapest but it went up over £150 this time!!! Odd I thought as I hadn't had an accident or changed my car or moved, and then when I checked my credit report I saw they had done a credit check before sending out the renewal  So I am assuming my BR made a difference.

So I got a quote online from the co-op which was less than direct line by over a £100 and that included full breakdown cover which I need as the car likes to break down :D

I called them and spoke to a lovely chap and said I did want to go ahead with it but would really like to pay monthly and that I knew I would fail credit check as discharged BR, he said that was fine and he could override it, so he put it through as normal, I failed, he pressed a few buttons and hey presto! I have car insurance at a good amount and paying monthly which is giving me those important green ticks! :T:T:T

Our house insurance is due for renewal next month and I will be going to the Co-op again as really impressed with them.

Our house insurance is with the coop, I did it online and got accepted for monthly payments, they did a check as it is recorded on my file, I was playing with google when I found the BR insurance site so it would be nice to see if you get a decent quote our see if they are full off wind. I have always used MSE or the others in the past xx

Direct Line were by far the cheapest for me. I'd been with esure for 3 years but my renewal quote this year was staggering.

    thanks everyone!

i'm having a look via MSE, thanks 5YP..

i noticed one of the comparison websites mentioned a credit search, well i would fail that miserably despite being able to pay for it.

hi Doucam thanks for this, interesting...i will see if the coop will quote...

Andy, Direct Line were almost double the lowest quote for me eek!

i will not be beaten...back to it....i will let you know how i get on....LV looking the best so far...:D xx
