Agreed, but then we'd be in the realms of soothsaying, so for simplicity I've just used the same FiT increase as I have for savings interest. I realise that's wrong, but it gives a rough idea of a break even point.
The bigger worry is that a future government will renege altogether on the FiT payments. If they did that I wouldn't need Excel to work out if the system would pay for itself in 25 years...

Hi
You'll find that there will be quite a range of colours on the anomaly map for May. Where I am the first couple of days were good, but as noncom posted earlier, it been mainly overcast since ...... having regularly checked satellite visible cloud images I'd guess that anything North of a line drawn from Bristol to the Wash will be at or below average, whilst anything South of the line will have done well.

Well, not far out on the prediction ....
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/anomacts/2011/5/2011_5_Sunshine_Anomaly_1971-2000.gif
... looks like the east of the country north of the Bristol to Wash line also received more photons than average. I'm apparantly in an area which would be classified as just about average for the month which is spot on with my generation for May .... average.
This all just goes to show that hopes of always significantly outperforming the target generation based on an initial few months of generation data may be a little optomistic, or at least premature.

Have updated my spreadsheet

This Spring has been the hottest driest ever!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/hi/news
There are quite a lot of people who have had Solar PV for some years(before FITs) and their generated output has been very close to the predicted figure.
IIRC ASG will accept the output of their 3.3kWp systems in the South Yourshire area being 2,800kWh pa and yet in another thread one of these systems has produced 3,158kWh0 -
There has been above average Spring sunshine where I live also, when compared to PVGIS estimations:
136% of predicted kWh generated in March.
138% of predicted kWh generated in April.
130% of predicted kWh generated in May.0 -
And from a bit further South...
117% of predicted kWh generated in March.
147% of predicted kWh generated in April.
130% of predicted kWh generated in May.

What would be interesting is how the solar panels are generating of the people who have had them for a for a few years & if they have had to have a new invertor etc?
[STRIKE]These are my figures for - can't remember how to comvert to %, can some kind person do it for me please?[/STRIKE] Thanks JackieBlack
March predicted 246 actual 320 - 130%
April predicted 303 actual 503 - 166%
May predicted 348 actual 466 - 134%

Invariably - climatically (speaking as a Meteorologist with panels as of 5 weeks ago), the Bristol to the Wash line for dryness and sunshine actually extends from Bristol to and including the East Riding of Yorkshire. I consider that climatically we are on the northern limit (by only 5-10 miles) of the East Anglian dry sunny (cold in winter warm in summer) climatic region.

In fact there mentions on these forums of meters going backwards (presumably the old style ones with a revolving disc).
None of the suppliers I have had quotes from have said that I would have to have a new meter for incoming electricity. Perhaps I do but no-one has mentioned it because I don't have to pay for it? Please enlighten me.
If I had a PV system fitted, then unplugged everything in the house and went away on holiday, I would expect the meter reading to be LOWER when I came back. Why wouldn't it be?
Your do have to tell your supplier if meter goes backwards after your solar pv install . the installer who fitted my pv system has sent me a link to some videos however I will not paste a link on here - has a certain person on here will assume its spam as usual . the videos are on youtube author is thesolarpowerinstaller one word. they are very educational if you are unsure of install methods .
