Many thanks - the manual seems to suggest that it would keep the last 90 days worth of readings from the inverter so that is just what I am after.

    Dobbers,
I think your figures in post#105 might be a little on the high side.

A Shade Greener, who fit 'rent a roof' sytems in the South Yorkshire area, fit 3.3kWp systems on roofs facing due South, unshaded and the correct pitch. They stated in a thread that they expect to get 2,800kWh pa.

Taking that as a guideline your 3.04kWp system would be looking at around 2,600kWh pa????

Which lines up perfectly with my supplier who estimated 2840 for the same situation but London area. Nothing like that good so far!

2nd best for me this year but you did very well for a 2.2 system. It was very gloomy here until just after 1pm when the sun decided to make an appearance. Racked up just over 10kWh in the few hours we had. Forecast bad again for tomorrow.

    3.3kW system.

Hi Jackieblack. Quite a good day for me too but not my best. We must have had more cloud down south than you northeners;)
I did unfortunately start making enough in the afternoon that I had no excuse to leave my big pile of ironing
Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D

It's become a bit of an obsession now. According to the SunnyBeam, peaked today at about 2.4kw (3.29kwp system) but very difficult to know how to use that power. Still, earnt some brownie points by doing a load of washing, dishwashing etc.

Wonder how the 2.4kw today will compare to a similar day mid-summer.

Actually, would be interested to know what other people's systems are actually producing in "sunny" conditions compared to the kwp specification?
  • Despite the generally poor weather with only one continuous sunny day in the last two months I have seen more than 2,800 watts coming from my 3k inverter during brief sunny spells this week.

That will surely depend on the inverter.

I believe the output of many(most?) inverters will be less than the panels are capable of producing at midday in a blazing hot June day.

There is little point in having a larger inverter to cope with, say, the 2% of the year panel output, at the expense of lower efficiency for the other 98% of the year.
