Neff & Miele and Bosch

I remember reading on the White Goods site that JL's machines are made by Zanussi - so, yes, that is the Electrolux group.
The cost of the third year's warranty is probably more than compensated for by the increased profits made on an own brand product.0 -

I've got a JL fridge freezer and it is definitely German made, from what was on the website at the time I bought it.0

When we moved house in Sept 09 we left the NEFF built in dishwasher - 7 years fault free service (apart from the upper arm getting clogged with paper from empty jars). In the new house we got a free standing Siemens dishwasher (there were offering a free 5 yr warranty at the time) and so far we are very pleased.
Have a look on the main Siemens website and check for free offers.0 -
We replaced our ancient Bosch dishwasher with a mid range Miele about a year ago. It joined an oven and vacuum cleaner of the same brand. To this day, it doesnt dry very well, I really didnt expect to be hand drying the contents after each wash. Also, the cleaning results arent as good as the Bosch. The guy at the shop said that in the search for more economical performance, drying is a casualty. I haven't as yet had a pop at Miele. No doubt they will insist that we should be using their rinse aid, powder etc. Hope my comments help in your decision making.0

Very interesting D.A You must have got the Friday afternoon model [workers throw it together to get home for the w/end] I think the guy at the shop was giving you some waffle.
I would get in touch with Miele under their two year warranty and demand action over the appliance, then you can see how their customer care after sales stands up.
On a note about drying we found if you have plastic contents in the machine it's best to take them out when the drying cycle comes on otherwise things do not dry. Worth a try0 -
Thanks Saver 1 for your useful input. In fact we wash overnight, "Economy 7" so whatever we put in, stays there till the morning. Certainly Tupperware type stuff appears wet, and perhaps concave mug bases etc, might be bound to hold water. I will eventually get round to a phone call, mind!0

We started washing the few things that are plastic by hand only take a couple of minutes. Give it a go or secondely get up at silly o'clock and take them out:) or better still get the other half to do it:D0

Ahh! Saver 1, I get up and do the morning coffee in bed. My reward for this small act, my Missus does absolutely everything else for the rest of the day!
I will bear in mind your tip about the plastic.
Happy New Year.0
