I have left another copy in The Inn
although I don't think my post should be moved as it is now time to bring the debate into the mainstream and to get the general consensus of the main board
the debate has been hidden [STRIKE]on the Regulars board[/STRIKE] in comps discuss for far too long with only a minority of MSE competitions users seeing it and making comment, it it now time to make the debate accessible to all MSE competitions board users0 -
I agree, we should definitely have a poll, and people should not be moving comps without the agreement of the vast majority of users.
I for one find it hard enough to keep up with the normal board so never venture into regulars and would much prefer as many comps as possible to be in main. If I am in the minority then so be it but I'd at least like proof that I am in the minority!0 -

hiya cc, the discussions have been going on since before christmas
(below is just one of the pages, there's quite a few)

& Amilucky has put this link on
I have been keeping out of the New year discussions regarding the regulars board as I felt that everything had been talked about and discussed to death before the New Year and I waited with baited breath the poll that we where promised before the New Year
hth xplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
I must admit that I haven't been following the debate as I should, but I did look in last year. I'm sure I will be able to adapt to whatever is decided, although my personal preference is the same as yours Amilucky, get rid of the regs board but keep the daily weekly and monthly threads. We definitely need a poll and a clear decision to be made and implemented with the consent (and awareness) of the majority.0

Thanks for braving it Amilucky!
This is exactly what we need so that people can see what's happening.
I happened to mention this to some comping friends just before the weekend and no-one knew anything about it and they are very regular compers. Most of us don't have time to read or join in the discussions thread (or the inclination when it's often sniping and fighting) I was lucky enough to fall upon it a few weeks ago so was aware of the (apparantly) unilateral descision to change things, and have still missed comps that have been whisked off to the regular board.
A resounding YES to a poll and a resounding NO to moving comps to regs from me. [/tuppenceworth]That ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free0 -
Just sticking my oar in.
The problem with a poll is that you're NEVER going to get agreement between so many of us who all have ways of doing things and very strong opinions that their way is the right way.
It's the BGs, PPD, Gilla and BHG who will have to do all the work so as long as everything is made clear to us (and properly enforced) I'm sure we''ll get used to any changes soon enough0 -

I have a quick question for you all...I may be moving house a bit later on in the year and I have been wondering what the best way to manage a change of address is with all the comps I have entered already...does anyone have any experience of this? I was wondering if a Royal Mail redirection thingy would work but if there are any other ways I'll gladly accept any advice you have

some will have read this before as I posted it in comps discuss and it has been hidden until now
The problem with the two boards in a nutshell
both boards work completely differently instead of complementing each other
the main board is fast moving and needs less interaction by the BG's and users
the regulars board is slow moving and needs constant interaction by it's users and the BG's to make it work
if the regulars board is to remain then some way has to be found so that the regulars board and the main board combine seamlessly with minimum interaction by the both sets of users and the BG's
most of the posters in this thread don't seem to have any ideas on how to make both boards seamless and interactive
and a lot of the posters in this thread are involved in a Regulars vs Main board tug of war and are only putting ideas forward for one board or the other
The regulars board needs to change so that it complements the main board
this could be done by using the same end date format that is used on the main board E: the comps could still be tagged after the end date example E: 02/12 (Daily) (Monthly) (Weekly) multiple entry comps could have the extra tag (Daily ME) (Monthly ME) (Weekly ME) comps without end dates could have there own stickies something like (Daily Ongoing) (Weekly Ongoing) (Monthly Ongoing) etc
users on the regulars board would then be able to see at a glance comps that need entering A.S.A.P and users on the main board would be able to use advanced search on the main board in the same way thus combining search results from both boards
this would require less interaction by the users and the BG's who would then be able to move regular threads to GAME OVER more quickly
sounds good to me in theory but I'm not quite sure if it would work in practise
so any thoughts good or bad or tweaks regarding the above will be more than welcome but come on folks let's all try and find a way forward that is acceptable to both board users so that we can all comp and live together in peace and harmony
and lets make the competitions boards better for all compers!
I know that I said that I wouldn't post again regarding the regulars board but I just wanted to try and bring some sanity into the debate and put forward an idea that might be amicable with both board users instead of the constant tug of war that is happening now!0 -

im quite new on here but i also agree that it would be easier for compers if the regular board was just daily/ weekly and monthly . as a newbie im missing loads of comps as i dont know where to look for them lol if they were all on the main board would be a lot simpler x:)Massive Thank you to all who post comps & answers on here .i'm very grateful , good luck all.
