Thanks Korky, In regard to the TAB/Puzzler ongoing threads, as well as someone agreeing to buy and do all the puzzles every week/month, don't you go to the same site to put the answers into, and am I right in thinking that in some cases the same Q&A will appear in more than one of the mags that live on the thread?

3) Personally I would still like to see them on main board with a FB or similar in the title ( people could maybe just add a polte ' could you put fb in your title' if they notice them as they do with end date) If I'm in the minority that's no problem.
4) I thought that's what this thread and Compers Inn were for, before we got bogged down in all of this...

Thank you, re 4) having a sub forum where compers could get used to being able to chat and debate comping issues, in different threads, could be much easier to follow and read, than these 2 huge threads.

Eg - I would love to get to know other compers from Wales, so would love a Welsh Compers chat thread, but there is nowhere for that. Sometimes I would love to let off steam about a company who fails to honour their T&Cs, maybe I would like to ask for some Twitter advice, that would be so much easier as a thread I could subscribe to, than in this huge thread, where the advice quickly gets lost. These are just examples I have pulled from the air, iyswim.

No offence to people in the Inn, but it moves so fast sometimes, that I very rarely go there. Yet if someone posted a thread on which are your favourite types of comps to try and win - I'd love to comment on that. I don't think I am explaining myself very well....

Very similar is true with the Comps disc thread - discussions get spread over such a long thread, and get split up by so many different Q's that they become very hard to follow but they each could have had their own thread in a Chat section.

still feeling awful but that does mean housework or anything that involves moving from the sofa is out of the window so snuggling under a quilt with my laptop is the mission for the weekend

in answer to beffffff - yes I can start as many polls as people want until we get down to majority choices

would people also like a separate thread for discussion about new guidelines? if so I'll start one now and move any relevant posts from the last couple of days from here to the new thread, if we do that I think it would be a good idea to invite people's ideas and discuss them for a set period (say a week)
after that I'd be happy to go through it and come up with some ideas for polls, which would give us ideas on what the larger comping community would like (some people find it easier to vote anonymously on a poll rather than post their views )

we can run as many polls as people think necessary

then maybe 2 or 3 compers could collate all the info and write some suggested guidelines, which you could discuss or vote on again

I'd like to suggest Mamzie, One-Eye and Beffffff as they've already given it so much thought and between them seem to represent the diversity of the comps boards well (that is not to say other people haven't/don't, it's just an idea )


until then comps can be left being posted as they are unless something is very obviously in the wrong place

Hi, could any give me some advise on this competition (link above), its concerning the t&c's.
From this muller promotion you can win gifts every day, the gifts could be games to download, partner vouchers to use on zavvi, allsoles, sports discount & iwantoneofthose.com website and many other gifts.

I have won several vouchers and I used 5 on my zavvi acount, the values of the vouchers were (£1, £1, £2, £5, £250) I had used the first 4 vouchers already on my zavvi account, then I used the £250 one. However on thursday Zavvi cancelled my £250 order and also one of the £1 ones and said that only 1 voucher is allowed to be used on the zavvi account and it says in the t&c's one per email and per household. I said the t&c's are not clear enough to know that it is 1 per zavvi account etc. They will not give me the voucher back in account credit and the manager told me to write a letter of complaint and she will forward it on to the marketing people.

I would like to know if anyone else thinks the t&c's are not clear enough... and none of the other partner websites have complained or cancelled orders for using more than one voucher, only zavvi and they have also seemed to have removed themselves from the promotion as you can no longer win zavvi vouchers.


Anyone think I will be successful in getting the £250 voucher credited back? If I had know you could only use 1, I wouldn't of used the £1 and £2 ones, the £250 was the last one I won.

If we want polls where an absolute majority (ie over 50%) has voted in favour of the winning solution then the only way is to have JUST TWO OPTIONS in any vote. My suggestion is below. I have used daily competitions in the wording, but a similar process with slightly different questions could be applied to weeklies and monthlies. It might look complex, but go through it stage by stage and you will see that each question in itself is simple and (hopefully) gets us toward a definitive answer.

We all have different preferences for the way we think regulars should be posted, the main test of these potential poll questions is "Can your favoured solution be reached with a particular sequence of results?"

Poll number 1 – Daily Regular Competitions – Vote for either A or B

A) Post a daily regular comp in a single thread for the duration of the promotion. New posts can be added to this thread for any new Questions/Answers/Links/Prizes. Post a link to the thread in the daily sticky.

Post the comp as an individual thread each day for that day only. No link is needed in the daily sticky so it becomes redundant.

Poll number 2 – Daily Regular Competitions – Vote for either C or D (Polls 2, 3 & 4 are void if ‘B’ wins poll 1)

C) ALL daily regulars should be posted on main. Promotions with a fixed duration have a real end date. Ongoing promotions have a made up end date, and the thread is periodically renewed.

D) The daily regulars board is retained for at least some competitions – exactly what will be decided in poll 3.

Poll number 3 – Daily Regular Competitions – Vote for either E, or F (Polls 3 & 4 are void if ‘C’ wins poll 2)

E) Post ALL daily regulars on the regulars board. Any posted on main will be moved.

F) Post daily regular Promotions with a real end date on main. Ongoing promotions are dealt with in poll 4.

Poll number 4 – Daily Regular Competitions – Vote for either G or H (This poll is void if ‘E’ wins poll 3)

G) Post ongoing promotions on regulars including any that need new Questions/Answers/Links/Prizes.

H) Post ongoing promotions that need new Questions/Answers or Links or Prizes on main with a made up end date. Post on regulars only those ongoing promotions where the Question/Answer and Link and Prize stay fixed.

I am guessing the program may be on a break, as Comping Cat has posted other ITV.com comps, but the last Real Deal comp expired on 10/03

just had a look at the terms, it does clearly state one code per household within them. so i would suspect they are within their right to refuse to let you have more than the first £1 code that you used, even if they were different emails. i may be wrong though, so hopefully some of the others will come and give their opinion too.

Korky you are amazing at being able to find and link to relevant posts. How on earth do you do that?

I had to search for Real Deal to check for any current comps, then I checked if Comping Cat had posted any that were not popping up for some weird reason, finally I noticed they had posted other ITV comps, so assumed that as they were still active and posting, that the program had to be on a break...
