as most free emails let you create temporary email address's (up to 500) if its a new promoter i haven't heard off i create a special email address just for them....from that i found that surprisingly paypal was one for selling on your details ( i set one up for them so they stood out in my normal email)
its worth doing just to work out the good guys from the bad ones
Though its amazing how many people die in Nigeria with billions and some banker wants you to look after itThank you to all the posters and the forum guides for all your hard work it is appreciated ...

One of the drawbacks of entering competitions I suppose. Some of the promoters sell or display personal details.
The worst offender was Ling Cars who ran a competition and to this day still display the full name, town, full postcode and email addresses of entrants on their website.
My competiton email address, after nearly 10 years, gets around 300+ spam emails a day.0 -
I also received both these emails today, infact not sure if it's just a coincidence but since signing up and entering a comp from look magazine yesterday i've had lots of spam like emails :mad:0

I received this today and immediately deleted it...luckily it had gone into junk so I could check it first. Remember something ages ok..cant think where I heard it...where an employee of a company was selling peoples emails although the company was exonerated from blame and the employee was sacked and fined by the courtsThanks to all comp posters:ADo not take life too seriously; you will never get out of it alive0

I thought you all should know about this, I have emailed the IPM about it as I feel it's wrong but really felt I should make everyone here aware since their comps are listed on here & in the dailies. I received a WEM today from the new Look daily competitions then half an hour later I received this email:
Please be aware you may have just received a winner notification from comps.look.co.uk regarding a promotion with Look magazine to win tickets to the Look Fashion Weekend on 26/02/2011. If you have received this email please note that this is a test sent from our new website which is under development. The new competitions site has not yet been launched and the promotional content has been duplicated from the existing competitions page on the Look website. As such, these prizes have already been drawn from entrants on the competitions page and not from the development site.
So up to you all what you want to do about it really but I've made you aware now:(Just become FTBs & Aiming to be mortgage free by 2034
Thank you to all who post on the comps/freebies forums you've helped us save our deposit :money:0 -
