My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

Our Precious Baby Tianna has now joined our Family, she is much loved and very welcome, xxx

  • you know comps that are known to finish at 00:01, or 6am or 9am or noon? any chance they could be posted with an end date of the day before? just that way then people who enter end date on the day they end wont miss them. so far this morning in only 3 pages of E:17/02 ive found 5 comps that have already ended :(
  • tickets to london fashioon week, posted today so anyone who has already finished E:17/02 will miss it, as will anyone who hasnt done them before they get moved to go or anyone who carries on form the page they left off on :)

I don't mean to sound harsh, but comping is a hobby and just like any hobby it's down to you to make sure that you have everything you need before you start. I'm all for helping whenever I can, but you can only hold peoples hands so far. There are way too many comps on here to enter every one of them, so if people (and I include myself in that) miss one or two, that's unfortunate but there are plenty of others. What with 'bumping' threads to remind people to enter and posting Regulars on the main board with links to the Regulars Board, and now changing the times or dates that comps say that they end, it's going too far IMO. We should all take responsibility for our own method of comping.

  • Hi,

Quick bit of advice needed. I won a pair of tickets to Paul Mckennas weight loss day in Hammersmith for this Saturday. I can't go and would love to give them to another mse for free. I have checked with the promoter and this is absolutly fine with them. Am I allowed to give them to another mse? I don't want anything at all for them and it would be a shame to waste them.

There is a post on the IWIWIW Board from the Board Guides saying you are not allowed to, but I'm sure that people still do.

in the spirit of posting ALL comps according to the same rules and going by the rule that most seem to want to apply (judging by the fact that so many are posted newly each day or week or month) that a new end date means its a brand new comp and needs a new thread there are:

in dailies 40 daily prize draw threads plus the one day only entry comps:eek:
    in weeklies 52 threads:eek:

that all need posting as new daily/weekly on main:A

(im basing this on the insistance that a new weekly or monthly end date, means a new comp thread is needed and the ignoring of andreas suggestion to post using links :) )
ill leave them all linked in dailies for now, and at some point, or as they are posted if people let me know, will replace thread links with direct to comp links because i will not mess with changing a link every day;) that way people who dont want to be hunting for them amid the 200plus other comps ending the next day on main can still enter via the dailies :T

all those comps in weeklies, that is the majority of them so i guess the weekly thread is mostly null and void :( cant really see a way to keep it for those of us who do use it without risking us duplicating and i certainly would never dream of asking gilla to spend hours every week changing the links in the op from one thread to another which is what would be required to maintain it with new threads being posted every week.

im sure there are also at least 50 comps in monthlies that will also require removing and posted separately each month. another few pages onto the 50plus that there normally are on last day of the month will be great fun but thats what is apparently wanted :A

any volunteers to start posting the 100plus split between dailies and weeklies then?

just thought if new end date = new thread needed then the times comp and the asos comp need posted every hour since there is a new draw for every hour :)
