I won a few bits but nothing exciting, so keep trying! December & January were good months for me, hoping march will be better!

I don't mean to sound harsh, but comping is a hobby and just like any hobby it's down to you to make sure that you have everything you need before you start. I'm all for helping whenever I can, but you can only hold peoples hands so far. There are way too many comps on here to enter every one of them, so if people (and I include myself in that) miss one or two, that's unfortunate but there are plenty of others. What with 'bumping' threads to remind people to enter and posting Regulars on the main board with links to the Regulars Board, and now changing the times or dates that comps say that they end, it's going too far IMO. We should all take responsibility for our own method of comping.

Just wanted to say that you summed up things much better than I have managed previously, thank you.

It was and is my choice to comp and it is just a hobby, so if like today I miss some comps, because life has got in the way - I've had a fab day, so be it. There'll always be more comps tomorrow :)

Saying that I do now have a lovely routine of entering regs now, after years of not bothering with them, and it's only taking me a few minutes extra.
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

Our Precious Baby Tianna has now joined our Family, she is much loved and very welcome, xxx

yep if people miss them then they miss them, if people dont want me posting links in here then ill quit.....but a few people have pmed me to say thank you.

i merely suggested that the end date for comps that are known to end just after midnight or early in the day could maybe be set to a day earlier to help people, given no one else has commented on that and all 3 of you who have commented have effectively said clear off and dont ask for too much ill retract the suggestion!

like i said earlier, a little consideration goes a long way. what harm would it do you all to set the end date one day earlier on a comp your posting weeks before it ends? and give someone who doesnt enter until the day they end a chance to enter it rather than open it only to be told sorry this comp ended

and whats hand holding if its not posting every single weekly and every single monthly as new comps each time they are updated :o

people dont have time to go to regs, dont want to go to regs and want everything on main so because "ive done it that way and ignore the rules or the fact that we have a regular board for years" so that means carry on that way and they wont even TRY a different way, instead complaining every single time something is noted as a dupe and merged.t

whats hand holding if not posting that every week because people cant go and find a thread or use an old link and read the new prize details for themsleves :rotfl:

like i said earlier...there are over 100 comps just between daily and weekly threads, if a new end date means its a whole new thread then thats what it means....but that applies to all comps and not just those that people scream and spit dummies about. lets apply the same rules to every thing though instead of it continuing as this confusing mess of inconsistancy and people doing what they please:eek:

andrea updated her thread to suggest using links to regular threads, but 1. that caused complaints cause theres more threads on main that dont need to be, and 2. there are plenty of ongoing comps that are not being posted that way.

i cant think of any other way to do things so that people who DO use the reg threads and do want comps linked in there do not then dupe there entries if they find the same comp on main. it is unfair to ask for links to be replaced on a daily or even weekly or monthly basis in each of the regular threads :(

how about instead of knocking and refusing to try any of the suggestions to help things someone else comes up with some ideas for what will work?

  • Hi Everyone

    Just a quick question please.

I only ever enter the comps I like. We have No children but am I able to enter the ones for kids because my 2 nephews would love the prizes? If so do I put their names and ages?

    Thanks
    Let's be happy!!
