I get disheartened sometimes, stop doing comps for a day or two, then find I miss doing them!! Of course, the odd win like a mobile phone and a spengler toy help. Right now trying to win an Ipad (or other tablet), a TV, a washing machine and a bed, all things that tend to be popular in comping!!! It's more fun trying to win a shopping list than actually buying it!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I get a bit disheartened to be honest. I treat wins as a bonus, but what frustrates me is the fact that I probably enter about 50 a day, and can't work out how to enter 150-200 that some people enter - I simply can't find that many!
I tend to win prizes that it costs me double the prize value to use/collect. I too want to win the illusive holiday or some cash.
If anyone has any ideas on how to increase the number of comps we can do I would be most grateful. Many thanks to everyone for their continued support. Without this we would never have the opportunity to enter as many comps as we do. :TBest wins 2011 ~ 2 Weekend CrimeFest Tix; £200 & £250 Cash. Still looking out for the BIG one!
A Huge thanks to everyone for their help, hard work and dedication. :beer:0 -
Patience and some persistence will get you there in the end.
I've been comping for about three years now and it took a while to win anything considered 'big'. When I enter competitions I don't take it personal when I don't win, nor do I go in thinking 'I'm going to win this'.
After a while you eventually start filtering down the amount of competitions you enter and only aim for the ones that have a prize that's you'd use or gift (yes, I've done that!). Clearly the big electrical goods/spa/holiday/iPad competitions are the most popular on here (check the Thanks for a guide) and so you know your odds tend to be slimmer winning those.
I now treat it as a hobby, not a chore, so it doesn't stress you out/dishearten you when your efforts aren't rewarded. Look for the competitions that require effort as they aren't as popular with those with the time to spare.
Now, excuse me while I nip over to the hourly Times iPad competition!Life's what you make it....
"I've got one, two, three, [STRIKE]four[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]five[/STRIKE]... senses working overtime..", XTC.
Life beyond voluntary work scares me, but what else is there?0 -

I just want to say thanks to whoever included the links to regular competitions on the main board and also the person who decided to do guessedenddate. Thank you, things are so much easier now. Johnny0

between the dailies, postals thread and the average of 11 pages of new threads ending the next day everyday there are heaps of comps to go through. and if you have time spare there are weeklies and monthlies and twitter and fb comps that dont even manage to make it onto here.
Hi
Apologies for posting here but I wasnt sure where to ask for help.
I am wondering if anyone can help me with a query regarding a comp on a forum. It was posted at the beginning of jan as a new comp and an end date was given of the 31st jan. About a week after the end date i checked the forum and there had only been two posts in the comp so i email the admin to ask who had won. A few days later I got a response that there had been a problem getting the prize and they were extending the length of the comp.
It seems really unfair and I was wondering if they are able to do that as there are now new t&c stating the comp ends feb 28th
Any advice would be great
x
im not sure if they can do it or not, but i have seen quite a few comps get extended. only replying to highlight your question so someone who actually knows doesnt miss it0 -

its great for people who comp by newly posted or recently bumped thread to have these posted with the next days end date as a new thread each time ...but sadly those of us who dont miss out on them all the time if we dont remember
ideally people would ad links to any short lived comp that only those entering by newly posted/bumped will see then there would be less frustration that we miss great comps because we choose to enter differently than some0 -
I can't find any comps ending today on the main board
I've sorted by thread title and paged through but goes from 14/xx to 15/030
