Hi
I have just calculated out my disposable cash saved for January at 6.67%, I will try to do better in Feb0 -
I'm way behind all you lot - I haven't even worked out my disposable income yet!!! I might have to modify the spreadsheet slightly as I'm feeling lazy...
I do seem to have received something of a tax refund today though, so I'm happy about that :T

OK, I'm going to work it out now as I heard the noise of smacking lips coming from the kitchen and on further investigation discovered my cat had had some of the bread I was defrosting for my sarnies tomorrow!
So while I am waiting for the new bread to defrost I'll sort it out.
What are we counting as disposable? Are we really counting discretionary (disposable being net income)??
I'm going to use gross minus the following:
- gas (what I paid last year divided by 12)
- water ditto
- electricity ditto
- rent/mortgage
- TV/broadband/landline
- mobile phone
- food
- council tax (what I paid last year divided by 12)
- insurance
- dentistry and prescriptions?
I use public transport and have paid that upfront for the year so I won't count that.
Does that sound about right?

I was debating whether to include food. It is a necessity, but it's something I feel I still have room to save on. If I 'exempted' it from my disposable income, I might be less inclined to reduce it.
Also, I notice we got a mention in the weekly e-mail. :T0 -

I thought that too, but left it in (it was a wild guess anyway, cos not only is it food but it's other things I buy at Sains like cat litter, cat food, cleaning stuff and toiletries). What do others reckon?iamsam wrote:Also, I notice we got a mention in the weekly e-mail. :T
When? Where? I don't get mine until Thursday which I think is grossly unfair!!!
