I received this:

Hi
Martin doesn't like to have more than 5 or 6 stickies on a board, and as you can see there are that many already. In general the stickies are 'official' ones only, started by a member of MSE as they are used for important things like information or particular discussions that Martin wants at the top of the boards.
Unfortunately all the rest of the threads have to take their chances but the popular ones will nearly always be somewhere near the top of the board anyway
Sorry I can't help with this.
Best regards
redfox

Hi everyone,
So are we going for the monthly disposable %?
Is there another thread? Or just in sigs?
Are we going to keep a running record. Jan 50% Gold Medal???? Etc?
Would like to join in while I still have savings!!:rotfl:[0 -
Hi Moneysavingwannabe
There were many posts yesterday.
I think we are all agreed that we will do this on percentage disposable income saved per month. I've created an Excel Spreadsheet that calculates this and helps you plot your monthly running total, so that we can add up the groups total at the end of the year.
I also think we need to make a separate thread for the Olympics, at present, it seems to be taking over this thread. Suze, Mr Tall and I will probably start one outlining the general idea.
My thought was that the percentage grew over the year so you get a medal once you have broken through the bronze, silver, gold percentage barrier. This is my understanding, could be wrong, thought we could award a virtual medal when someone achieved the percentage as an incentive like Natwest did Piggybank pigs.
Keep a watch out we should have things finished by the end of the weekend.

Wow, that's good! All we need now is to edit the first post to talk about the Olympics.
On another note, the mods have stripped the link out of my sig (pointing to this thread). I wouldn't mind, but the stupid plebs have mucked up all my formatting. If they're going to take sigs out, they could at least leave the HTML in place.
Reminds me of when the nit lady would come and check your hair at school - they'd always choose some useless person who couldn't do a ponytail or plait :rotfl:

Congratulations on getting the sticky :j !
I've been an avid reader, but not managed to make much of a post so far...
I've worked out that I've managed to save ~3.5k in the 3 months before new year :T !! (for some reason I work it out in 3 month stints, so about 1.2k/month)
Only downside is that from what I spent, too much was on alcohol (over 150p/m ). Keep telling myself it was mostly Christmas parties, but trying to cut back nonetheless.
Anyway, keen to join the 2007 olympics! Not figured out what (if anything) I've saved so far - going to try for platinum though!0 -
