What are the respective interest rates? I'm sure you're almost certainly better off by moving...

I think I'll be lucky if I break even this month... I have already spent 51% of my expected net income for the month, and I go on holiday next week... which is bound to cost me a few hundred. My cash situation is fine, but as my credit card is taking a bit of a pounding, methinks I wont manage to save much next month!Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Got a nice chunk of interest from my Lloyds Regular Saver - £340-odd. I tend to get annual or closing interest on most of my accounts, so won't see any more significant interest payments until my fixed rate terms with Icesave end in a few weeks' time.

Aww, £340! Now I feel pathetic for being excited over 99p interest on my current account yesterday!Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Hi everyone,
I'm so glad I've managed to find this thread. I knew there must be something on MSE like this.
Me and OH have set ourselves the target of saving a huge £50,000, with the intention of buying a house with as small a mortgage as possible. The timescale is fairly flexible at the moment but I'd like to do it in four years. The method we've used is to create a £50k wall of 1000 bricks, each representing a £50 note. At the end of each month we fill in all the bricks we have completed. Actually looking at a wall of 25 by 40 squares makes us realise that this isn't such an impossible task afterwall. Plus the £50 increments are small enough so that adjusting monthly spending patterns can easily give us an extra brick or two a month. I've managed to save an extra 1.5 bricks a month since beginning to cycle to work. So far, we have managed to fill in 92 bricks.
I've been doing some matched betting, using cashback sites, a bit of stoozing, religious budgetting and selling things on Ebay etc. This stuff really is addictive.
Think I'll go back to page 1 and read through all 92 pages of posts. I'm sure there will be some great advice in here.

It’s good to see someone else viewing some debt reduction goals as
being more important than just mindless spending. Thanks for the advice. Your information really help me alot.0 -
Hey Guys, Hope everyones saving is going well!
I talked to the college yesterday and hopefully I'll get my transport paid for soon .. so they will save me LOADS! but instead of just spending it on something else, I'm going to put it into my savings! so £7.80 everytime I go to college will goes into my account!0 -
Fiiiiiinally the SLC have sorted my application, but my overdraft still isn't active... so I'm going to have to go to the bank AGAIN to get it sorted!
Hopefully won't have to dip into savings again now“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

How much did you ask for?
I went into HSBC and they did it there and then, this was a month or 2 ago.
Got my first ISA interest today, was a little less than I expected though, trying to figure it out but they won't let me see transactions from last tax year fs0
