What an @rse - it's such a b&gger when this type of thing happens.
Hope you find memory stick from last back up. Think of the spreadsheet fun you can have creating new ones. Just looking for a positive somewhere

Quick break from painting - done toilet, now to do bathroom. Can't garden on such a lovely day as painting needs to be done before next weekend. It's all you lots fault as you voted for me not to do it a few weeks ago
.
Meet Rhod. He will be living on the windowsil in the toilet once finished. Got him from a large barn type place about 15 miles away for £15 - can't believe what Dwell are charging . Mr GG came with me and even he thought it was a groovy shop. glad I'm not relying on him for interior design though as his taste is a little....em.... how shall I put it...... bad :rotfl:.
On to bathroom. This lack of spreadsheets certainly frees up more hours in the day.

So, nattypants has been reading my diary, poor soul, so I thought I'd have a look at where she was up to.
Ah yes, accidental house purchase :rotfl:.
(If you end a sentence with a smiley should you:
a) use a full stop before it,
b) use a full stop after it, or
c) use no full stop at all? )
Found this post, from May 11:Part 1 - clear 25.5k by end of 2012
Part 2 - clear 61.5k by end of Aug 2016
All my extra income will go to clear BTL, with Mr GG's agreement, as it has an interest rate of 4.5%. I have a few tricks up my sleeve - savings payout of at least 3k, tax rebate of over 1k each year, DD owes me 4k which she should start to payback next year, bonuses at work of around £1800 a year, slight surplus on BTL income, DS currently 'paying back' 1k by me withholding £70 a month from BTL income. Part 1 should be simple :rotfl:.
And if I do achieve it to target then Part 2 will follow on nicely :rotfl:.
What it does mean is that my mortgage challenges have been blown out of the water. Also, Mr GG won't be matching my payments till I am equal with him, he will be rebuilding his savings, and this means my aim to pay all debt off by 55 may not be achieved. (I originally wrote 'won't be achieved' but have downgraded it to 'may not be' already)
So, Part 1 almost achieved and Part 2 still looking good :T. Onwards and downwards :T. And no more accidental house purchases :rotfl:.
Painting done - ish. Garden cleared up. What a mess. There are bits that have had standing water for about a year . The northern facing bit (it's only a v small garden, I'm not talking about an estate :rotfl:) is usually either soaking wet or rock hard. If I'm lucky I manage to catch it in the transition day or two when it's ok to dig/weed, but this year it's been soaking all year and covered in lichen . Wanted to put bird feeder out (one of the poles with dangly arms) but the pole snapped off just above spike when next door's fence fell on it . Rather than get another spike and then watch it fall over in the wind I'm going to get a parasol base for it. Then I can spend a fortune next weekend on bird food to see me through the winter - will probably spend around £40-50 , but better to get in bulk as it's a lot cheaper.
Yummy dinner of brisket, little roasties, carrots & leek. About to have a bath and scrub hands - instead of gardening gloves I wear old leather or suede gloves as much more flexible - dye has come off as hands got so wet. Right hand looks like it has frostbite and fingers are about to drop off

Got a bid in on a parasol base - near my office so could collect. Ends tomorow - here's hoping
.
Looked at bank account and am overdrawn. No idea why as don't have spreadsheets. £1,800 ccard bill gone out today and I had moved loads of money about but can't remember details - maybe one payment not in yet (she hopes, as it's over 2 weeks to payday .
Disater last night. Wet patch on hall ceiling, coming from airing cupboard. Couldn't find it so thought it must be above stairwell, where built in, DS has much pleasure smashing plasterboard
. Obviously the leak wasn't there, it was in cupboard at very back. Now has towel wrapped round it. 2 problems:
1. Am not at home till Fri.
2. Because of where it is it will probably need a hole knocked in study wall to get at it. Who am I kidding, it WILL need a hole knocked.
B*ll*cks, b*ll*cks, b*ll*cks.

They say things go in 3s - hopefully that's all the negative stuff and you can get back to normal.
Blinking typical that it happens on a week when you are away.

Sorry to hear about the leak its Sod's law it happens when you are away hope you find someone who can fix it. Well done on the painting something I hate doing myself in particular the gloss but it is satisfying to see the results afterwards.
Had to laugh when you wrote last week about eating breakfast in the work canteen instead of the hotel to save your company money. I do exactly the same aren't they just rip off prices hotel breakfasts.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I'm not actually away this week - just away every day IFSWIM.
Regular CH man's brother in law has just been round to have a look and collect key and will be back later to fix it :T. Amazing how a bit of flirting/cheekiness opens doors. He thinks it can be done without smashing the wall :T. On the plus side, I can join the weird lot
who spent the weekend cleaning as I will have a tidy airing cupboard :rotfl:. It is obviously tardis-like as the contents of the cupboard have filled the spare room .
My poorly 'puter will be getting looked at this morning. Her's hoping
