I just wanted to let you know that I was thinking of you this weekend, and most especially wanted to give a big 'Leeza Ta-buck' stylee *BIG UP* to the orange growers of your adopted homeland :T. Al-diddly-dee have bags of oranges in their S6 this fortnight, a bag of 5,6 or 7 fruits for 59p. They are absolutely LUSH. All the bags I have bought thus far have 6 good sized fruit in them, the oranges have been sweet, juicy and tasted of orange (I know that sounds daft, but I also know that folk will know what i mean). And no, I dunna work for this particular supermercado - but like to give credit where credit is due :D

A [STRIKE]lot[/STRIKE] little bit of sunshine has been brought into the Greying Homestead kitchen, and in a dank and dreary January, for that I am grateful :D If you have a 'Kiss an Orange Farmer Day' - or fiesta - I'll happily send mine virtually :kisses3: :D

Well as I am an orange farmer myself :rotfl: I will get Mr GG to give me a kiss :kisses3: though I don't think my oranges will be appearing in Aldi any time soon :D (they have progressed from :D size though but not colour). I do have high hopes of getting a G&T from the lemon tree as 1/2 a lemon is now yellow :).

No internet for another week  and not sure how good a signal we will get so may be back to the drawing board (aka more time in the pub :D). We are now also going to a local hotel and sitting in the foyer so it's not an alcohol fuelled frenzy :).

It has been cold a few evenings so Mr GG thinks we should get a pellet stove. Am striking while the iron is hot (or should that be cold :rotfl:) so we're looking at them this week. Likely to get one that vent into our bedroom and hall and we can move existing heaters into 2nd & 3rd bedrooms so guests will be toasty (though nursing sore backs as still no beds :rotfl:). I have another friend coming out end of Feb so need to get beds sorted soon

'Cold' in the above post being relative and it is warmer outside than in at night time - the walk to the hotel is around 15 minutes and I had a top, lightweight jumper and gloves on and was toasty :T

Mr GG has been encouraging me to do lots of walking (dangling a G&T at the end of it :rotfl:) and I have managed to shift a few pounds :T, though still too busy to go out with walking group!

5 day trip to C!rdoba and Huelva planned for May and Malaga end of August so finally going to explore some of our new country :j.

As you can probably tell, loving our life right now :T, dare to dream everyone!

  • Huelva and Seville :). One of our lodgers came from Huelva and every time I drive to Seville, I shout hello from the motorway :rotfl:

I'm thinking of taking a coach trip to Seville - takes two hours to drive and 3.5 by coach but I'd like to give it a go.

    Hope all is going well.

Today I learned 'sus paredes son muy gruesas' which means 'your walls are very thick':eek::eek:. However we do have internet, and fast as well :j. We also now have beds in the spare rooms and one is even made up already. So that's a relief to all concerned :rotfl:.

Buying the beds was fun - because I said a few phrases in Spanish the assistant decided I was fluent so rabbited away with me nodding and saying 'vale, vale' (OK, OK) occasionally. Think I got away with it - the right beds turned up to the right place at the right time for the right price :rotfl:, though Mr GG ended up giving the details in the end.

Spanish lesson now, hasta luego :hello:.

What you do not want to hear is 'sus piernas son muy gruesas' cos that would deserve a clip round the earhole!

And Tilly - do the journey by coach - soooo much nicer than driving yourself.
