That is a good budget figure, but is it just for you? Or does Mr GG have to share it?Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -

That is good news.... It could have led to some long distance wrangling with Mr GG as it is a tad tight for a couple. But just nice for one..Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!

So lovely long weekend with Mr GG :kisses2: but he is now on his way back to the ME
. However, he has decided the job is not for him, has handed in his notice and will be out here by end of Aug at the latest :j. Combination of a number of factors but I think the largest is that he is missing me
. He of course sees it differently :rotfl:. I am a bit disappointed I won't get my ME adventure - but Spain was always Plan A and I've managed to get here ahead of schedule :T.
We were chatting about budgets over the weekend, I'm struggling with the mindset of moving to spending rather than saving - GG did you find this, I know it's common on MMM? I was explaining to Mr GG that I was finding it difficult as I was spending money but didn't know what budget to allocate it to. He found that hilarious and I must admit it did sound a bit pathetic :rotfl:. I am going to monitor spending against projected pots for the next few months though to see how accurate my forecast was.
Got a bargain of multi buy of pots & plants off local FB page, €40 for 10 and one pot alone (an Ali Baba jar) is easily worth that :T. Not so keen on some of the other pots but they can be changed over time, but plants are all a decent size and healthy and the jasmine opened up when I put it on my little terrace so when it flowers a bit more I'll be able to go to sleep with the sensual scent of jasmine which I'm sure I can convince myself doesn't really smell of wee :rotfl:.
Waiting on Mr GG to FT to say he's arrived, also ISS passing over at 10.27pm so going to set an alarm on phone for it as beautiful clear sky :T.

Wow, Gally - what a good job you didn't set up a permanent base in ME then! And of course MrGG handing in his notice is really about missing you :rotfl:
Yes, the budget worries are hystericalbut actually, plotting expenditure in relation to planning is a good idea. Knowledge is power, an'all that :j
ISS! Did you see it? Weather is utterly disgusting here, completely overcast, genuine hooley going on out there :eek:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
GG - Our ultimate dream is to retire early and move to Spain with the children, I hope you are enjoying your time out there. What I wouldn't give for some vitamin D right now, its flippin freezing here in Yorkshire!
All the best, ATB xxMFW

Can highly recommend it ATB, what a great start in life to grow up bi-lingual. Was speaking to someone the other day whose children were around 10 and 12 when they moved with not a word of Spanish between them - now both at or graduated from Spanish Uni's :T.
Right, sat this morning and brought all accounts up to date and rejigged how spending is recorded (both UK & Spain). The bad news is the outstanding balance, net of credit cards and transferring money over from UK, is £13,800 with a current payoff date of Feb 17. That will come down though as we have a new tenant for our house, hopefully moving in soon, and Accidental Purchase house is also let so we will finally start getting rent at the end of the month :T. Been let to the woman who is living next door and whose parents live on the other side. She will be there for a long time, all being well, and I know the family so all good :j. Spoke to her last night - is it ok if they decorate (em, that'd be a yes, especially if they undo Mr GG's brother's efforts :rotfl:) and can they do some work to the garden as well :T.
