Gardening later
Went through finances yesterday, still a bit .
Plan from start of April is to budget better. New savings account set up, and the associated spreadsheet now has 10 pots, plus 1 for own btl in/outs. I will be funding the account with £574.79 a month :eek::eek::eek:. Apportioned as:
- house insurance £15
- car insurance £35
- car repairs, MOT £41.67
- car tax £2.92 (hardly worth it, but it is paid on ccard so it's in there)
- diesel £250 (may need to adjust upwards )
- dentist/optician £20
- work - lunches for staff etc £35 (hmmmmm............. that seems too high)
- rockchoir £25
- Xmas, birthdays, holiday with friend £100
- clothes £50
So, with all DD's and planned OP of btl, plus my weekly cash budget of £125 I have £19.03 spare each month . (Which means when the £125 is not enough I can't just lift more :rotfl:). This will be .............. em.............. challenging. Happy to admit failure and reduce monthly OP's a little, but am working on the principle of 'Pay Yourself First', rather than spend and then OP whatever is left

Morning GG, I run our finances this way and it has made a significant difference. Although it may take a whole to sort it out, the benefits are worth it. It also helps with the 'remember to have a life' aspect in my mind. I still want to send the kids in school trips, or have a great meal out without feeling guilty, some the money all switches on payday.
DH is now reading the neighbour book and enjoying it. Good to see him getting so interested in all this stuff and hearing him talk through choices of needs not wants.
Yep, enjoying the sun here too - really makes the heart sing

Gardening done - in shorts & vest top! Grass cut :j and all garden weeded. [STRIKE]Laid some turf [/STRIKE] dug up and moved some weed infested green stuff. I now have a nice triangular area at the bottom of garden which gets the sun a bit later than the rest. I dug up a tree & some shrubs from there last autumn, just made it a bit bigger. Planning on putting down some stones and getting a few chairs (but don't have a gardening pot so will have to be creative with accounting :rotfl:), but need to get a fence post & panel replaced first.
12 items listed on ebay, loads more to go but internet v slow so took too long to upload photos.
All in all, an enjoyable weekend and long may the good weather continue :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

1 sold, bought for £4, sold for £10 so after fees I've just over doubled my money, hopefully a little more as I'll post at work so cheaper postage :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

:rotfl:email to say quidco payment sent. Logged on to find it's £1.25. Don't think it will knock a month off my mortgage though :rotfl:done projected ins & outs on house account for rest of year. Projected shortfall (including o/s bill) of just over 1k. Means the extra £200 per month going into offset will have to be robbed

My back accounts seem to be losing money at a great rate of knots. I long for a "boring" one :rotfl:
As for quidco - £1.25 is £1.25.....in my world, that's a whole bar of 85% chocolateSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
