I agree with Hurdler Ed, I have tried different systems but they're not the same. How big is your laptop if it needs its own room .
Pretty damn big, think it has a 17.4" screen
The new and improved me thinks I would have been better off getting something a bit less powerful, that was £850 not particularly well spent.0 -

I use Open Office - it can save in Word, when needed. Started it because when I bought *this* laptop I only had a trial edition included, and didn't quite realise the implications. After I installed Open Office, I remembered I had a completely legal earlier version of all the Microsoft stuff from my previous laptop, so I installed that as well, but I still use OO for preference.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I use excel for my monthly budgeting. OH set me up with it cos I'm useless with formulas and all that stuff. It's brill !! Takes off all the direct debits when I start the new month so I can see what i've got spare. When i spend something, i enter it on the spreadsheet so I can see exactly how much is left. I still manage to end up with no money spare at the end though
If anyone wants to have the template i'd be happy to email it over. It's basic but it does the job well.0 -
I think I'm going to experiment with Google docs
GG, Lois etc. have far more demanding spreadsheet requirements than me. If it can store data, handle basic formulae and maybe a low quality chart or two, it will meet my needs.
My 'Ispreadsheets' mug is broken these days, trying to keep it simple.

EG - do you really want to belong to a club that would have you as a member.
