Well, here I am, on The Day. I've submitted my tax return! And sent the payment off! I was frightened to death of doing it :rotfl: but the fiddly bits that were hanging on, I got the bits of e-paper that the accountant used to submit them last year, and I've done them in the same format, so it *should* be okay
if not, well, they'll see from the date stamps on these posts that I really did try my best
I don't actually believe itsomething's going to jump out of the phone cable and bite me
so this isn't the last post on here - _pale_ NO, I'm sure its okay, truly  I rounded up the pennies to the next round number, thats all.
Its taken ages because I'm very oldand I used to have money
and when I didn't have money, I did a lot of things to make dfw money
(there are dormant accounts and mystery shopping - yep, in the year I've just submitted, there's still m/s income!). Dividends, even - how about privatisation shares in a company that was bought by a European country? I have foreign shares :eek::eek: That sort of thing is why its taken a million years to do ...
Anyone who's read to the end of this post has the patience of a saint :kisses3::kisses3::kisses3:
I really hope the Revenue don't come after me with a big stick, but I suspect I'm far too little for them to worry about. And you know what, I'd budgeted for an accountant's bill of £500 ... thats as much as my gas and electricity bill (my house is really compact!). Its a huge amount to save! I probably got the taxable amount to within about £50 of where the accountant got it, so I'm really proud of it - as long as the Revenue don't use that big stick on me
More later!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I'm sure you'll be fine KC, well done you! :T :T :T :T :T I'm sure nobody at the inland revenue will be bothered coming after you with a big stick

Well done that lady!!!! Go you and your cleverness to save all that money which will pay the heating/energy on your hoose!
welll done indeed
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
Yeah You!
What an accomplishment!
£500 - is that your cost for the entire year? (or per quarter?)
that's usually our cost for winter...

Well done KC, I know the submission has been a hard slog for you but it is so worth it now you have saved (almost) enough for the gas and electric bills
You must be a sales person - they round up and accountants round down :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I know we will still see you around the boards but just wanted to say goodbye to your thread, I think doing your own tax return is a great way to end :T:j:T:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Thank you Maty! And thank you for your help, too, it was a huge help to know that you were in the background there, as well as my email.
Me a sales person! Funnily enough, if its not *me* that I'm selling, or something of mine, I can do that. Maybe I sense another thread of my patchwork career coming on
And with that ... I formally declare this diary closed! Gosh, its been a long trek.
Trying to be :money: while being a bit  and often failing totally:rotfl:then being  (as above, with the Revenue and their Big Stick
)
And thank you to everyone who's wandered by this little corner of dfw-land. I'm still around now and again, and still having fun with my 'compadres'.

Sorry, Fortune Smiles :hello: yep, this was closed down a while ago - I only come back onto mse to keep up with friends that still have dfw diaries (still three of them) and check Martin's newsletter every week.
You know what ... I started to type a normal dfw-diary update there, but I'm not going to go that route - the stuff I really need to do is too big for the diary type things, like starting up another career, so I'm not going there. The fun stuff of yellow stickering chasing, I'll invade Greying or Pippi's threads still, they're kind, lovely people, they'll put up with me
To read current adventures, go to the blog thats on my profile on here - its chat with pictures, I've never been able to upload pix here, just links - there's quite a few pictures of Stonehenge on my latest post :j
But what a lovely thing for you to do, to come over here! :A Thank you! I won't be offended if you don't read it, you know, its a fair while ago now:o:o
Off to see diaryland .... :hello:2023: the year I get to buy a car0
