Morning :hello: Well, not a bad dfw day yesterday:
- renewed address update online.
- took care of the volunteering thing.
- researched (finally!!!) how to clean polycarbonate sinks.
- did a bit of research on mattresses
- tidied up, I'm not kidding, 500 emails in my main email address.
- went a walk in the hour before it got dark, and got a great urban foraging haul - lots of edged carpet samples (i.e. they won't fray) which will be perfect *between* plants, as I don't have enough bark for the whole garden - and even better, lots of tiny "manufactured stone" samples - little squares, about three inches to a side, they're going to be beautiful little features in the slate or the pebbles :j
- finished off all the "Travel" section of my accounts - not the declaration, the work of finding out when I travelled where, and how I paid - and I was pretty ingenious at that last year, so it took a while! I'm chuffed :j
Today, I'm actually working *outside* the house, so not on here at all, really. There is a discount mattress store that I pass, so I'll investigate - I'm not expecting too much, but it'll be good to check.
Hope everyone has a good day :hello:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well done KC! :T :T Excellent news on the urban foraging0

You are fair whizzing through those accounts KC :T:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0

Thanks both! I'm back a bit earlier than I thought, which is nice - its funny about the accounts, now I don't have a metaphorical accountant hanging over my shoulder, I feel much freer. And I feel freer in this house in general, of course
My poor business partner thought I'd gone under the metaphorical bus - he had the time of our meeting wrong (it was the same as last time! It was! But he hadn't written it down like that...) and there was a worried call on the answerphone when I got home - its also my bad for not carrying my mobile with me, oops.
Anyway, he forgave me, we had our meeting, I scooted back here for the banking, and zoomed through Iceland - no more Quorn offers in Iceland! Still, even their bog standard price is good compared to Sainsbo, so I bought a couple of packets. And their frozen veg have gone up by 10%, as opposed to 30% at Sainsbo, tho they've done it in a sneakier way - pack size is down from 1kg to 900g
but as I say, still cheaper.
I'm still warming up - it suddenly gets *very* cold in the late afternoon at the mo, so no more foraging for me today - just a bit of accounts work :money::money::money:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Is that the one which runs to time?he had the time of our meeting wrong (it was the same as last time! It was! But he hadn't written it down like that...) and there was a worried call on the answerphone when I got home - its also my bad for not carrying my mobile with me, oops.
Tut! Should carry your mobile in case you get run down by a metaphorical bus...Anyway, he forgave me, we had our meeting, I scooted back here for the banking, and zoomed through Iceland - no more Quorn offers in Iceland! So it has gone up by 11% then...I'm still warming up - it suddenly gets *very* cold in the late afternoon at the mo,
That'll be that winter thing - are you all prepared?so no more foraging for me today - just a bit of accounts work :money::money::money:

Wow, you have been busy,
I love the sound of the stone chips & hurray for urban foraging, I'm forever hauling stuff out of the skip at work, much to boss's amusement & delight.
I may well 'borrow' your selection of things to do, sounds far more fun than my usual 'task list'
Have a lovely Wednesday

Ooh, Lula, what kind of stuff do you get out of a work skip? Between doing that and checking the front gardens for cats to stroke
I'm sure I look like a burglar .... but since I don't actually have any stolen goods on the premises, I'm pretty sure I'm safe
Up very early *again* - I actually quite like it, but it does mean I'm shattered by about 9pm, which isn't the best for my prospective local social life. Will have to re-watch How To Marry A Millionaire, with Lauren Bacall, Marilyn Monroe and Betty Grable.
Today - emails, and oh yes, 3 hours of paid work. Before that, I'm going to hop outside to take photos to adorn the blog, now I've mastered uploading to a blog, if not to hereThere's a master plan in there somewhere, but heaven knows where it is

When I read how much pleasure you get from cats I get a feeling that I 'so' want you to have one of your own again...do you mind me being nosey and asking why you haven't committed to another furry house mate/friend?0

:o:o I decided against it way back, because the idea was that after I'd bought the 2nd house and done up the one I was living in and got to grips with investing, I'd be travelling away regularly, and it wouldn't be right for me. I know people say that cats are independent, etc etc etc, but as you say, I get a lot of pleasure out of stroking them and saying hello to them and whatnot (a record yesterday - 8 in less than 100m, and one of them was outside my front door) and the two cats I have had, I turned them into complete homebodies :j
The plan is still travel. I can't afford to travel, but nor can I afford the proper maintenance of a cat - talking to Wol about guinea pigs, and my own prior experience, convinces me of that.
I'll get cats when I can no longer travelin the meantime, probably next year when I really *am* sorted, I'll volunteer at a cat charity thats fairly local.
Thanks for asking!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
