Hello, just catching up & agree that a decent bed is essential. Cheri's idea of storage is great, definitely check that out.
Life planning , thoughts & diary talk is contagious, I bought a large book ages ago exactly for this purpose. Can't wait to start filling it in.
Hope egyptology was fun & pesto was plentiful

good idea to check price of fitting at shop and get them to store it or as you say borrow from mum and you definitely need a comfy mattress even more so with artheitis..I'd definitely go for it0
-
Thanks folks! He actually said yesterday that they stored for 3 months
I could possibly push that with an "emergency" for another couple of weeks. I think there's some work on the floorboards that needs to be done, and of course since I only just fit into the house, even with all this decluttering having gone on, storing my *stuff* will (might!) be horrendous .... I am moving on that too, tho - I have a single bed frame in pieces, its *never* going to get put together (its a loooong story) it needs to go the place where dead beds go to
and I'll keep the mattress, which is a 2' 6" Dunlopillo.... that will give me space to move some bits to, as well.
I'd better get on with getting quotes from my builder
Egyptology was excellent - an overview of the contact between Egypt and the rest of the Eastern Med .... brill. A long day out, tho, as I *did* go to Asda first - got my pesto, good at 60p compared to Waitrose's best at £1.99 - don't know how they manage to do it, but they do. Also found some Olay moisturiser reduced from £6 to £1.49  do regular Asda people just not *use* nice moisturiser??? V puzzling!
Trains were out of whack with what I needed so I mooched around the little town I found myself in - what a depressing place! Still, finally found a bottle of Stardrops in a non-spray version - v hard, nowadays!
Plus .... followed by policy of buying only quality in charity shops - got a BhS almost-maxi denim dress, new with tags in, for £1. Very pleased! Its actually a size 16 - went over my t shirt well, what can I sayI think it will be great when I work out how to wear it properly

Me again
up for ages, and may now consider gracing the kitchen with my presence
will definitely have to grace the garden with my presence later today
Bit of a tidy up needed in the house, too - don't mind doing *that* on a Sunday, and I need to have a stay home day after being out so long yesterday, tho I may pop into town later for some stuff.
Oh .... I actually need to use up the apples I picked last weekend - even if I stew them and freeze them!
And look what Alys has been writing about!

I like the sound of Japanese quince in the front garden - I just have a small strip down one side, the neighbour's car is next to it, but he only uses it twice a week, at the weekends, so not much direct pollution. And mahonia berries! I have a beautifully mature mahonia in my back garden2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

That's a grand article thanks for posting it up.
Quinces are lovely, easily be nice in a small strip in the front garden, flowers are beautiful tooTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

:hello: It would be nice to get something productive in that border next year - its got .... well, heather, some kind of shrubs, lots of roses (which desperately need pruning), thats it really. Nothing I want, except that I want to experiment with rose petal jam
Right, off for another cuppa and to do something with my life2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

OH & I were with you in spirit at your Egyptology yesterday afternoon, there is a show on called Museum Secrets that had a whole show on the Egyptians and the Hitites!!! Facinating stuff
Have always found that the 'nice' stuff goes on sale at A$DA (& Waitro$e for that matter) when the manufacturers are either about to reformulate or change the packaging i.e. downsize! If it's something you use regularly, do stock up - unopened face procucts can last one to two years in your indoor foraging centre & will save you a ton of £££ over time!
...and what a lovely article on foraging... will try to beat the slugs to my one remaining hosta in the Spring and see if the unfurled fronds resemble fiddleheads... an amazing veg we get over the pond as soon as the snow begins to melt and the ferns poke their heads out.

That was the title of the talk! Synchronicity!
I'm not sure about rosehips, tbh .... it doesn't sound like *any* rosehip will do .... I do have a lot in the garden, back and front, maybe I should hop over to the OS board ....2023: the year I get to buy a car0
