Morning! I was just wittering on Hypno's thread that I'm managing to sleep a tiny bit longer, as I get more well - but I was seriously shattered yesterday by that walk, I have no stamina left whatsoever
Today, tho, my sister's coming round on an unexpected visit, to help me with these curtains (she's lovely, she's bringing her sewing machine :T) and I'm going round hers next week to help with ebay and paypal.:wave:You are sounding so energetic these days & very positive, so glad the lurgy is well on it's way out!
Absolutely!
Love that you call it decluttering - lol - much more 'je ne sais quoi' than 'chores' - lol.
The "decluttering" description I like is when somebody eats/drinks something :rotfl: I think thats hysterical :rotfl:
OH is so exhausted by the 'chores' we did this morning that he's having a snooze - is it a man thing? - I can't even fathom having a snooze knowing how much more there is left to to! - lol - perhaps if we introduce him to the word decluttering he might be energized instead?
I doubt it - and not to undermine the superiority of women, but if I could've fallen asleep during the day yesterday, I would've
Well accomplishment of the day is that we finally 'decluttered' a year's worth of batteries and a brita filter to the appropriate recycle bins in town that somehow did not want to leave the store cupboard.:D (Small things and all!)
Excellent! A little bit more space all the way around.Mmmmm to trading, it's so exciting, I used to follow stuff years ago but now out of the habit. I dont think spreadbetting is for me but I will need to learn a bit more about different sources of income for when I quit home-job
I love the fluidity of the charts, but the trading itself triggers so many old fears for me, the adrenalin doesn't feel much like excitement
I *will* overcome that tho.
Well done on getting out for long walk, it's been so windy here today I find it both energising & exhausting if that makes sense. Cat loves it when it's windy, dashes in & out of the cat flap & up & down the stairs for hours, easily pleased
Sweet! I would *love* to see that :j I found a little kitten to stroke yesterday (well, all right, it was sitting on its own doorstep where I've seen it a dozen times already
) I managed to stroke it :j
I *do* know what you mean by energising and exhausting, all those negative ions in the air but also all that effort to do stuff.
Speaking of which - I need to get washed and dressed, my day will *really* have to start soon.
Hope everyone has a good one - I'll have a proper tour around the diaries this afternoon, didn't realise the time right now.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

We were in the park today and I was trying to cure little DD's fear of dogs (even though she's adamant she's going to be a Vet when she grows up ). There was a lovely old dog tied up outside the cafe, so I bent down to stroke it's head, as it looked quite friendly. Wrong. It nearly had my hand off!:rotfl:
I jumped and ran like the clappers, while DH rolled around laughing!
Good to hear you've got your mojo well and truly back. When your sister has finished your curtains - please could you send her up to me? Ta x0 -
Macgirl poor you!
Kc nice to hear you energized
I'm off to crack on with more thesis today to be free in late APril

Thanks
I admit I've always been scared of dogs - probably due to my Mum always saying "don't go near that dog, it'll bite you!". I'm sure that didn't help
Anyway, I think I've passed this fear onto my kids, despite me trying to act friendly towards dogs (and their Dad being a complete animal lover).
DH was laughing because I don't know dog etiquette. He said "How would you like a complete stranger patting you on the head?!"
Next time I won't bother!0 -
Poor macgirl! I was wondering how you were, with your OH's birthday on Friday - I'll look for your thread in a mo.
I love all animals, not just cats, so I understand your OH's viewpoint - I'd never pet a dog I didn't know, or one I hadn't checked with the owner about .... too many ways for misunderstandings and attacks to occur. For me, the same thing happens with horses - in spite of myself, they're so big, I reach out to pet their schnozzle and they rear away - they *know*
My sister has done the whole curtain - its complete, its hanging up there, all done, I can't quite believe it. Plus [strike] we[/strike] she decluttered all the branches that were out at the front waiting to go to the tip - somebody's already liberated the old vacuum cleaner
- and I cleaned another set of venetian blinds and did lunch. I've been laying here completely shattered
but so much work has been done on the house today, I feel really good about it. I'll definitely be able to get the office set up by the middle of next week. :j:j:j 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
For goodness sake take it easy tonight KC - you'll be wearing yourself out again! Sounds like everything is going brilliantly though - and :j to getting your office set up next week - once it feels more like an office going in there will feel more like going to work, won't it!
With you on the petting of dogs without speaking with the owner first too - and even once you *have* checked, best thing is to put your hand out palm up towards the dog but them just let it come to you - you'll usually pick up pretty fast if there is likely to be a problem then too. When I used to be out with our little spaniel when we had her it amazed me the number of people who would let their kids just come rushing up to her and immediately start making a fuss of her! With horses a similar thing is true - once you've checked they are friendly just stand there for a momenbt talking to them - the blowing in the nostrils thing also works, although best done gently! A pat on the neck will also make a horse shy away less than anywhere around the face, until they are used to you - it's like you would feel more comfortable with someone you don't know that well squeezing your shoulder than stroking your cheek! :rotfl:🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Now Jason Statham could come and stroke my cheek any day of the week :smileyhea. Dh is amazing with dogs, even with a guard dog at a firm he used to visit. You were not allowed to get out of your vehicle if the dog was loose - he used to have it laid on its back havig cuddles
Glad to hear things are getting done, take a rest when you need it the do a bit more, like put the kettle on, then rest again

You're right, EH, the most I'm doing tonight is boiling some pasta (now, actually) and throwing some frozen peas in ... I'll have a look at iplayer to see if there's a QI I want to download.
You're right about the dogs too - thats exactly what I do, put my palm upwards where they can sniff it if they want, right by my body, not push it into their face. It gets a good response
With cats, I use cat language - eyes three quarters closed, look away, look back - they're not primates, eyes wide open is a threat!
EDIT - I crossposted with you, Pippa - how cool is that with your DH and the guard dog
And yes, it *is* hard work, lifting that kettle. One two, one two....

you've had a busy day KC - isn't it amazing when a 2nd pair of hands gets involved how much extra work you get done

That is so true, Troy, I said it at the time to my sis - it was noticeable when we were sizing the curtain up for where the hem was to go, but in all sorts of other ways too.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
