Hope you feel better soon KC and have a fab weekend. xxNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Thanks Ellidee, I appreciate it - hope yours is nice too. Just came on to shut the lappie down - the next stage is going well, nearly all the houseplants watered, lunch on the train is prepped - I even managed to stir fry leftover veggies to stick in the freezer cooked, they wouldn't keep - stuck them in one of the freezer bags that were part of my "housewarming shop"

Have a good one, one and all

I just about remembered, thank you! I used them too, especially on the way back, it was nice to have that reassurance.KC don't forget the throat sweets for the journey - am trying to resist the fisherman's friend quip !

I did, Taxi, thanks, it was lovely. It was my brother's and sister-in-law's anniversary weekend, and I'm *very* happy she married into the family, so it was especially good. Went to an enormous garden centre on the edges of Southport to buy a gorgeous garden lantern, as they're living the good life almost to the extent that Pippi is - including chickensmissed you..hope you have a good weekend x
It was priceless on my return journey. At Southport, I wanted to buy a cup of tea, and you had to go to the counter to buy a token for the machine:
Me: can I buy a token for the drinks machine please?
Staff member: well its better than stealing it.
Only in my beloved Liverpoool (tho I'd better say Merseyside, as it was actually Southport

I feel lots better, thank you all
Lurgy was quite strong at one stage on the visit, but has now gone its merry way. I worked in the garden for almost 1.5 hours yesterday, which is *amazing* for me - cutting grass, getting rid of sedge, clearing the stony/earthy bit between the patio and the house (thats so I can put weed suppressing membrane down then cover it partly with the stones I've just taken up) plus a bit of ordinary weeding.
Pippi, I didn't get to go to their house this time, tho I will next time: they have 3 chickens, they've just doubled the size of their run, so they *may* be getting more, I'm not sure. They have one 14 week old pup: since they're both out at work all day, he sometimes goes to her dad, and the other days, they get a puppywalker in - who sends photos of the puppy to their phones
along with soppy texts :T Plus they have guinea pigs
. My brother, btw, makes a mean pot of lemon curd
tho after a couple of hours with him, you could've cut glass with my accent
