It really has swooshed by ....

I felt okay when I got up, but feel horrible now, tbh ... I really don't want to be doing this work any more .... sigh ... so I need to get my act together for the other stuff. I wonder if I have an issue with electrical signals, a la X Files - cleaning the hall just became v difficult as my new vacuum cleaner cut out after 5 minutes, *and* I'd just cleaned the filter. Same thing that my old one did. Maybe both me and my vacuum cleaners are psychic, and they know I loathe housework? Could be .....:think:

ETA - the vacuum cleaner decided to work :)

Never mind the other work, if you have a psychic hoover I'm sure you could make a living out of that... you know, go on 'This Morning' and tell your story to 'That's Life' magazine.. :rotfl:

Show your psychic hoover a list of Olympic athletes and see what happens. If an octopus can do it...

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: by gum, I could be on the telly with my psychic hoover

Today, tho, I'm just happy that I don't need to have an hour's journey each way to see my partner, as he has that lurgy still - which means I'm off to the railway station here to collect train tickets for part of my trip to see my mum - the £1 ones that were on offer the other day. And I'll hop to Sainsbo pharmacy to get some cough sweets :o

Just one hour of paid work today, in preparation for another marathon tomorrow ... but what I actually want to do today is a bit of planting in the border, then mulching to help them survive while I'm away, and a bit of gap filling in the house. I'm really glad I weeded that border - there's a pretty ground cover plant of some sort, *and* a scabious - I've brought two scabious (tho one had some kind of white *thing* on it last night that looked like it jumped ) but I'm always glad of a third :j

    Boring post. Sorry!

    I am reminded, thank you!

Collected the tickets, all is well there. I got so caught up at Sainsbo in frugaliciousness, however, that I completely forgot to go to the pharmacy :o which was a bit silly, as I might actually *need* cough sweets. Hopefully not before I travel, I can pick them up at a London terminal Boots.

Anyway, there are several nested Cunning Plans revolving in my brain around household shopping at the mo, which is why I forgot to go to the pharmacy :D

Thing is, I *love* trying to outwit the supermarkets, and even tho I'm doing it to live as cheaply as possible, if I have to spend lots while I'm doing it, I really like it :D So, I hate having nothing in the house and buying the bare minimum for that week, but I *love* finding an offer and buying loads - today, it was non-bio liquid concentrated, in stead of £2.55, it was 2 for £4. So I bought 2 lots - saved £2.20.

Which brings me to the 2nd level of my cunning plans - having enough storecupboard stuff to last me through the winter. I'll always have to buy fresh food, of course, but at the minimum I want to be able to buy enough from "outlying" shops - e.g. I buy dishwasher tabs from superdrug, and only dishwasher tabs - to last me through the winter. This version of the cunning plan is to help avoid germs - when I expose myself to germs this winter, as I will inevitably since I live on *this* planet, I want it to be for a better reason than buying dishwasher tabs . I know this sounds weird, but more than a third of my year, for the last two years, has been consumed by being ill. And I'm going to make sure it doesn't happen again.

The 3rd layer is boring, but fun for me, I'm using it to save up for water butts: free nectar points if you spend more than £30 or whatever. Just got them!

Oops, off to make a phone call.

That sounds like a great plan.

Water butts! Ahem.. :rotfl: No, really, thanks for reminding me I was going to investigate them for our garden :)

:naughty::naughty::naughty: Oi, don't you mock my water butt plan :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I might not use it for them, actually - Wilko's do them really cheap, might be better to use the nectar points for something else.

    Other "outlying" stuff:
    - ink cartridges for the computer
    - tineo honey from Waitrose - antibacterial like Manuka, only 60% of the price.
    - water cartridges from Wilkinson
    - Asda stuff that I like in particular - their pesto (oh god, I'm never going to be able to store a winter's worth of pesto :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) and organic g/f pasta.

The aim with this is to make sure that anything I do outside the house during illness season is something I *want* to do because I *like* it, not just because I've run out of whatever it is ... it sounds paranoid, I'm well aware, but if I can reduce the risk of being that ill again this year, then I will, hey ho.
