Malta at the end of Jan

But when you leave Malta you'll be very sad, 'cause things over here aren't really that bad.0

I have found that free internet does not seem to be commonplace in Malta, so not sure whether to leave the laptop at home (four days offline? ) or find a bar with wifi.
A good spot for free wifi in Valletta is the cafe at Marks and Spencer. No access codes needed to log in and tea costs only €1, just a bit cheaper than what you'd pay in Paris or Rome.
Sliema has a few free wifi spots. A popular outdoor place is St Anne's Square, by all the shops. It has benches and fountains and is good for people watching too.
Wifi is free at Malta airport, all branches of Cafe Jubilee and McDonalds.0 -
We've got the sunshine, we've got the sea - and not long ago we had the colour TV.0

Does anyone have any tips on booking airport transfers or would I better just getting taxi?0

And when you come back, well you never know - someone might have filled up all the holes in the road..0

If you just pick a taxi up from the rank they are expensive, so I would go for either prebooked transfer or bus.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
Just back from Malta trip.Stayed at the Windsor in Sliema. Not the best hotel but fine for a couple of days.We really loved Malta & its people and will def go back- so much friendlier than Spain etc.So much British influence there from 3 pin wall sockets to red phone boxes & post boxes. It feels like a little bit of home but not in a tacky way like somewhere like Benidorm!.
Will try to go back later this year.I recommend Malta to anyone.......Neil0 -
Hi, my partner and I are thinking of a week in the sun in June. I was thinking of either Portugal (Algarve) which we have been to before, or Malta which neither of us have have been to. Any advise or knowledge on Malta, the best resorts to stay etc would be great. We are looking for somewhere relaxing with plenty of resturants to eat out in the evening maybe a few bars but nothing too wild!
Your advise would be welcome. I would like to book something soon to have something to look forward to
Thanks in advance.Best wins: Brit Awards & After Show Party Tickets 2012; Samsung Galaxy Note; 32" widescreen TV; £500 National Garden Vouchers; Kindle Fire HD; £100 high-street gift card; Kindle; Diamond Necklace; BAFTA TV Awards Tickets 2015; :beer:0 -
Can anyone advise of best company to book Airport transfer for trip to Malta?
We arrive at 10pm so probably be too late for the buses.0 -
I knew there was something I needed to update! Got back Sunday, great trip, will definitely be going back.
I booked transfers with Travel Republic - only paid £7.50 return for the shuttle service and ended up getting a private transfer! They use a local agent called Williams Garages, I would definitely recommend them.
Which hotel did you book in the end?Gone ... or have I?0
